Dele Giwa got killed via the effects of a parcel bomb in 1986 during the ruthless IBB years.

During the very corrupt and brutal years of the Abacha military dictatorship in the 1990s Bagauda Kaltho got killed via a bomb at Hamdala Hotel in Kaduna, Sylvester Odion Akhaine, Bayo Onanuga, Kunle Ajibade of Tell Magazine and other Journalists got arrested, beaten, and sent to jail alongside several lawyers and pro-democracy activists. So, military rule isn't the BEST to be honest.

Look at how the Niger military junta is blindly replacing the French and American forces in their country with the Russian forces... They are busy replacing one form of White neocolonialism with another form of White neocolonialism, instead of these people to learn to be truly independent and ONLY work in the area of partnerships with friendly countries around the world.
imagine bomb that year ... imagine what people can do now

They criticised your government, so put them in government by giving them your position, and not to conscript them into the army.
They criticised the army for being incompetent in dealing with insurgents so let them join so they can do better grin

The Media is a massive tool. Its how the west painted Ghadafi and Saddam as Terrorists. The main thing is Africa needs to take back control of its resources one way or the other.

Well if you are that patriotic to criticize the military operations, you should be brave enough to pick up a weapon to do better than the soldiers.
Here we have people in our country who have been criticizing our military operations against boko haram and even mocking the army. But give them 🔫 to fight and dem go piss for pant.
Much respect to the army.
And for the record, there is lots of forced conscription happening daily in Ukraine, a western-backed democratic country. So let us rest.

This is what Military Dictatorship is all about. It's not about what idiots in Nigeria fantasize about.

It's the forceful acquisition of ANYTHING and ANYONE without consequence. They'll behave anyhow and take anything they want.

If a General wants your wife. She's a general's wife now. And if you so much as grunt in disapproval, they'll gun you down. And laugh about it too.

Military Dictatorship is a BAD idea. Especially in Africa where EXTREME wickedness is follow-come.
Oga it is not about making offhand and voluble remarks...

It goes beyond trying to gaslight people calling for military rule but making political leaders accountable such that such calls would never exist in the first place...

Look around Africa and see the different strands of madness we are calling civilian rule and tell me how anyone in their right minds would prefer the continution of such egregious irresponsibility...

The military forced Mugabe out....It was the current president of Sierra :Leone, Julius Madda Bio who flushed out ragtag military elements rubbishing their country's image to usher in democratic rule...He eventually won an election is serving today...

So the point is that it makes no sense to tar everything with same brush: Political leaders must know that there are limits beyond which the inevitable would eventuate...

See ordinary back of rice of 6k under military na 80k now under the Lagos magician.

Una sure say this democracy pay us?
Under millitary rule, people were still struggling to buy the bag of rice at N6000.

It is not like things were cheap then. N6000 was a lot of money. IN 1991, my dad bought something for N5000, and he felt like it took a big hit out of his pocket. HIs salary was not up to N5000 a month then.

Many of you, when you look back to those days and see that something cost N6000, you are comparing it to your earning now. Back then, you would have been lucky to see N1000 per month...most people would.

What is the difference between military dictatorship and using state power and the military to force INEC to manipulate a general election so that a drug lord becomes president ?

Dele Giwa got killed via the effects of a parcel bomb at his off Allen Avenue residence in Ikeja, Lagos State in 1986 (the same year Prof. 'Wole Soyinka won the Nobel prize for Literature) during the ruthless IBB military years.

Second, during the very corrupt and brutal years of the Abacha military dictatorship in the 1990s, a Journalist Bagauda Kaltho got killed via a bomb at Hamdala Hotel in Kaduna, Sylvester Odion Akhaine, Bayo Onanuga, Kunle Ajibade of Tell Magazine and other Journalists got arrested, beaten, and sent to isolated jails alongside several lawyers and pro-democracy activists. So, military rule isn't the BEST to be honest.

Look at how the Niger Republic military junta is blindly replacing the French and American forces in their country with the Russian forces... How is the civilian government in Africa different? Afteral they arrest and detain journalist using their powers without going to court.
The journalist arrested by the military and detained for two weeks comes to mind.

WHAT IS DIFERNT?

That shouldn't be at all because it's an absurdity. Those who are doing this majorly belong to the younger demographics who are CLUELESS and have NO idea of what happened back during brutal military dictatorships in Nigera from 1966, and especially the 1980s to the 1990s. So, they see this archaic military presence in a few places such as Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger Republic, Gabon, and they jump up and run like lemmings praising military dictatorship because they do NOT like someone who is now the President of Nigeria. It shows that many of the military rule supporters were highly dishonest and NEVER democrats in the first place under the Labor Party that they were peddling all over the place.

Even the military suffered from deliberate underfunding during military rules because of the fear of coups by the heads of the military juntas, and also military men got court-martialled and killed after being framed up on charges of plotting fake military coups.

Apc won.

The thing is,most Nigerians voted against apc. Apc went from 19 million votes in 2019 to 8 million votes in 2023.

The problem was Obi and kwankwaso took votes from pdp in the SE and north and middle belt. Also, pdp lost Benue. Atiku ended up losing 7 million votes.

Had pdp been united, apc would have lost and agbado master would have been forced to retire along with buhari
