Port Harcourt should have had more skyscrapers by now. I wonder what is holding them.

What's so special about skyscrapers? Roman and Spanish cities don't have much of them but still got very beautiful cities in Madrid, Barcelona, Rome etc. Snap me out of my ignorance please.

They have skyscrapers in those cities though Rome has just 2.

Mind you those countries have lots of skyscrapers. It's just being regulated in certain areas. They're just zoned outside old historic cities to preserve the ancient look for tourism. Either they're at the end of those cities or nearby cities. See Barcelona below.

Nordic countries with little population density prefer to build large horizontal buildings instead. They tend to look like stadiums

If your city has no highrise buildings or the nordic alternative. It indirectly means that very little public corporations are doing business there

In today’s no-nonsense digital world, image is everything. Branding is everything.

A city that wants to show that it is ready for business must have a well-designated Central Business District (CBD), with a fair number of highrise office blocks.

The most senseless people you can come across. Surrounded by black gold yet don't know what to do with themselves. Fubara is a big example of a complete failure of a community of people. God didn't bless them with leaders but blessed their land instead.

Can you compare those magnificent Eastern cities to ur slummy ibadan, osogbo, ogbomosho, abeokuta, mowe and the rest of ur slums.. Even if you remove ikeja and v.i from ur dirty lagos it can't be compared with those cities you mentioned..

I left my 8months rent and ran way from una dirty festac, mosquitoes nearly buried me alive there.. Use_less city.

You will build a 4 storey building and no Tenant will love to rent beyond the 2nd floor. Why, no lift. Why no lift, no electricity.

If you have been trapped inside a lift before, then you will know why you shouldn't invest your money on highrise building in Nigeria.

It's not government that builds sky scrappers, it's private businesses

That's the offices of corporate organisations. Big business that have built edifices.

Of course I know that!

I wasn't saying the govt should build the highrises in PH.

But they can offer sweeteners to big businesses to establish corporate branches in the CBD, which leads to their building of highrise office blocks.

Plus nothing wrong with the state govt itself building a couple of highrises as office blocks in the CBD and renting them out to small businesses.

By the time you now add a couple of hotel chains like Hilton and Sheraton in the CBD, you have what could look like this:

Italy and Spain isn't only Rome and Barcelona. Those cities are preserved for tourists.

Check their commercial cities. Below is Milan and Madrid
