It makes one wonder if only the weak and elderly die during these heatwaves or if everybody is equally susceptible. With the many deaths these days, it was obvious high blood pressure wasn’t the only factor at play.

Age is a factor, since the elderly are already weak. But there are other factors. For example, septicemia is mentioned - meaning that having an existing infection or a weak immune system are strong factors. There's also the issue of lifestyle. One who smokes or drinks alcohol regularly or one who doesn't drink sufficient water would be at risk.

They all wear Silk hijab instead of Chiffon or Cotton for fresh air. I have seen them several times scratching their heads and bodies due to heat, but one thing is certain, they will NEVER remove that hijab for any reason.
Imagine covering yourself with silk when you are already hot, it will increase your temperature.

Today's heat was so hot that I had to remove my shirt and hang it somewhere while I was still in my shop. cry

I had to even adapt the method of sleeping outside, because even your fan go dey blow hot air, na big men dey enjoy this hot weather o, with steady A. C.

Since this new year rain never fall reach 3 times, and each rainfall no dey pass 20 minutes then it stops.

Most of the people dying from this heat are Muslims, the reason is because most of them cover their selves from head to toe, allowing little or no fresh air to touch them, some of them even cover their babies with that hijab.

Another factor again, is the issue of light, devil come dey use Nepa people this period, sometimes when they bring light, it's always low current, It only manages to charge phones, you can't even pump your water with sumo.

And the prices of fuel is on the high side, each time I run my generator na so my phones, rechargeable lamps, and powerbanks from people in my street go just full my house.

many people even load their cars with empty gallons, they use their cars to go and search for public taps in other to fetch water.
