Miscarriage of justice has always been the order of the day by the Nigerian security agencies. They scapegoat innocent and peaceful individuals.

In a sane country, nobody will be arrested unless the beaten soldier identifies the person to be involved. But in Nigeria, a fight between an officer and one person in a marketplace warrants the arrest and detention of all the people in the marketplace, especially if the market is perceived to be dominated by non-Hausas.

Why did he honour such invitation? And he's even an Igbo man. It's illegal to be legal in an illegal environment.

This is exactly the warped mentality of an average ignorant, gullible, and naive Nigerian. Was the guy who was detained and tortured by the terrorists in uniform the man who beat them up? Absolutely NOT! The question then is why should they beat up every civilian for the crime of a few people? If Nigeria is a country of laws and NOT of men, all they need to do is to have the police investigate and arrest those responsible and have them face the law. But to lock down the whole plaza and go on a rampage against innocent business owners and shoppers who have nothing to do with the kerfuffle smacks of irresponsibility and uncivilized society.
