Nigerians;Like Leaders , Like Citizens. by PeachtreeReside(op):
I got this from a friend whose friend is into recruiting in The UK that some firms specifically request that certain Nationals not be considered for recruitment and Nigeria happens to be one of them.

Do we now blame The Government too without looking at how we portray and behave outside.

In trying to absolve ourselves of wrong and lack of accountability, most of us prefer to say constantly that the reason why we are not respected Worldwide is because of our Leadership.

Which is true in part......but

it is the citizens who are drug mules and couriers.

It is the citizens with horrible work attitude and ethics.

it is the citizens who are into all kinds of fraud.

it is the citizens who carry out jungle justice on suspects.

it is citizens who carry our Human Trafficking of anyone who is seen as vulnerable.

it is the Citizens who talk down on their Country.

it is citizens who portray the worst of Nigeria to the outside world.

We do not treat our environment without care and litter everywhere.

So, our lack of respect Internationally is courtesy of both Citizens and Leaders.

Preach it! Very true. A government is a reflection its citizens; and the citizens are more often than not a reflection of the government.

Nigerians are known to have one of the best work ethics in the west. If your friend hiring for remote jobs or UK based roles. For remote jobs many exclude Nigeria because of unreliable internet. For UK based roles its illegal to exclude based on nationality.

You are right about us being good workers .

Internet issues though....So annoying.

It might be illegal to discriminate based on Nationality but it does happen.
