Abuse of Power in Tinubu's Administration

We are witnessing a disturbing trend in the current administration as it continues to interfere and undermine the will of the people of Kano in silence. This troubling development began with the appointment of Abdullahi Ganduje as the chairman of the APC, despite him being caught on videotape accepting bribes in U.S. dollars, earning him the nickname "Gandollar." His elevation to such a high position in the ruling party is alarming and has set the stage for a series of abuses of power.

Now, from his position of influence, Ganduje is pulling strings and leveraging the federal government, the Nigerian military, the Nigerian police force, and the Department of State Security Services to settle personal scores from the shadows of power. This is precisely what many Nigerians feared when Ganduje was appointed. This man, who has shown blatant disregard for the constitution, is willing to trample on the rights and privileges of others to assert his authority.

A recent example of this abuse of power involves the withdrawal of state privileges from Ado Bayero by the Kano state governor. However, instead of respecting the state's autonomy, a federal figure empowered Ado Bayero with two private jets and armed escorts from the military, police, and DSS to storm Kano. This blatant overreach and disrespect for state authority is unprecedented. Even during the eras of IBB and Abacha, such blatant disregard for state sovereignty was not witnessed. It is ironic and disheartening that supposed democrats and civilians are engaging in worse abuses than the military regimes did.

Ganduje is a ticking time bomb. There is an urgent need for a thorough investigation into these abuses of power. All those involved at the federal level should be held accountable and removed from office. This is supposed to be a democracy. If figures like Obi and Atiku are told to seek justice in the courts, why can't Ado Bayero do the same? The Kano state’s sovereignty and the powers of its governors must not be undermined by the presidency.

This pattern of behavior is unacceptable. There must be accountability for these abuses of power. A thorough investigation is needed, and those found guilty must be fired and brought to justice. The rights of the states and their governors must be respected, and the federal government should act in the best interest of all Nigerians, not just a select few.

Please remind me who were the spokespersons of Condoleezza Rice and Collin Powell. Remind me who is the current spokesman of the current United States NSA.

You will not admit our people overly indulge in the creation of meaningless positions. There are Special Advisers to Special Advisers for heaven's sake. I have seen a business card titled "Friend to the Governor" and "Friend to the Friend to the Governor."

Give it up my guy.

The Deputy Governor can't just call Ribadu's name. The commissioner of police can't say he's acting on court order and daring the governor. Garrison Commander can't deploy troops without orders. The messed up big time for involving in case that is under the state government with legislative backed law. Particularly, Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy is the one in charge

I really don't think he needs to stay off otherwise it will rub on him with bad precedence. He needs to put legs on the ground and ask Ganduje to let go and seek other means. If he stay off the fight will get more dirtier as Ganduje is more of a desperado and if care isn't taking break down of laws will follow and it will be late to curtail. Let him Wade in and resolve it for everyone interest.

My own is that he is just too loquacious and highly opinionated for an emir.

He is always trying to sound like an academic questioning the system everytime, but in the end he lives an actual contradiction.

He could have sold off those luxury cars in his fleet to be seen as less ostentatious and help the poor.

You cant ubiquitously be swimming in regal opulence in one breath and still be considered a champion and voice for the hordes of deprived and unskilled youths in the north.

You cant be a proletariat and a bougeouise at the same time. One must give way for the other.

Its the same thing as making an el rufai an emir.
