Are they cowards? I don't think so. What was the military doing in a civilian environment? Most of you don't use your head to understand that actions comes with reactions. What was the action that caused the reaction no one wants to talk about that.
Don't mind them. No civilian in their right senses will attack a uniformed army personnel. Those semi-literate, power drunk Lance Corporals are very fond of being violent towards civilians. Imagine one of them slapping an unarmed, defenceless woman into a dead faint last week. They probably took the same barbaric behavior to the Plaza and got a taste of their own medicine.

I agree that it is a crime to manhandle any uniformed officer of the law, but the soldiers themselves don't respect their sacred uniform.

1.
The report says the attack on the soldier was unprovoked. Please, what caused the attack? Prove that it was unprovoked.

2.
The report calls for the closure of a shop and for the arrest of the shop owner. No wahala. But what about the woman that was allegedly slapped by soldiers? No justice for her or was she not assaulted?
Also it seems the army has taken over police work oo.

The 2 civilians arrested are handed over to military police....this is wrong

Senseless fools

WHY WILL THE 2 ARRESTED PERSONS BY HANDED OVER TO THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE MILITARY POLICE ?

Are they military officers?
I don't blame them, I blame the idìot head who can't caution or call them to order.
That's the problem with illegitimacy....
He can't call them to order because he is a thief and they will rebel and overthrow him..

The problem with illegitimacy

So there was no provocation from the soldiers?

The civilians were mad and just decided to start attacking soldiers?

This is a civil matter and only Nigerian police is legally justified to deal with it, all other security agencies have no business getting involved.

The traders who beat the army men were wrong no matter what except if in self defence, they should have made complaint to the police, the soldiers who went back with reinforcements were wrong too, they should have reported to the nearest police station.

I don't see how fracas between two soldiers and traders in a shop could become a threat to our national security when bandits are yet to be proscribed as terrorists.

Finaly Nigerian police should investigate the matter thoroughly by getting to the root of it. What led to the fight? Why did the traders not report to police? why the soldiers not report to police?

What you said would have made sense if Nigerian soldiers were professional.

They are mostly low self esteem, half educated bullies.

So they deserve no applause for thriving on assaulting civilians.

All the police brutality you hear of in America- how many times have you heard that a soldier beat civilians talkless of beating them to death

They don't behave like sane humans
That's why they don't attract sympathy when they're killed by terrorists
Re: Army Reacts To Opening Of Banex Plaza by Aether(m): 10:23pm On May 27, 2024
I honestly find it difficult to respect military personnel in this country. Firstly, no one begged them to join, it's just a job like any other. Also, it's not like they generate any revenue for the country, they're being paid with taxpayers money.

So I don't know where they get that useless pride that they have. They are servants of the citizens, so they should behave like one!!!

I honestly wish Nigerians could rise up and close their businesses to these guys, let them go and open their own shops and stores, we'd see if they'll be able to survive.

Given the appropriate tools, the average nigerian can defend themselves and their family.

A rather sad and pitiable institution is the military in Nigeria!

Just leave Northern Nigeria out of your rubbish talk oh. If na army you wan abuse na your business. But just leave us alone. Any little issue you will start dragging the north. The north really appreciates the sacrifice of these gentlemen who have taken the courage to sacrifice their lives for the Region and country rather than take up other civilian jobs.
