The President needs to review the performance of his team, going forward, and in order to salvage whatever is possible of his dissolving electoral promises to Nigerians.https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/697996-editorial-tinubu-one-year-of-mismatch-between-performance-and-reality.html

"..Tinubu has not demonstrated statecraft in allowing workers’ salaries to remain the same, one year after his economic policies unleashed the harshest hardship on Nigerians. Edo and Cross River states have offered N70,000 as against the Federal Government’s N57,000 minimum wage proposal last week.Being itchy and twitchy under the influence of white powder is not political sagacity or sophistication. The builder of Lagos have destroyed Nigeria. Reality is indeed clearer now. |

"But where Tinubu got it wrong, some would argue, was in his hastiness, without prior consultations with the organised labour and other stakeholders, over how to mitigate its inevitable searing pains. There was no cabinet in place then and for quite some time thereafter. ....Inflation, their ineluctable consequence, has since then become a bull in a china shop. Insecurity, lopsidedness in political appointments, transparency deficits in governance and disregard for the 1999 Constitution, have equally soared to dwarf Tinubu’s eight-point Renewed Hope Agenda...." Meanwhile the scorecard so far; -1). Driving Job Creation: Band-F minus. -2). Economic Growth: Band-F minus. -3). Food Security, Band-F minus. -4). Poverty Eradication, Band-F minus. -5). Access to Capital: Band-F minus. -6). Rule of Law, Lawless -7). Anti-Corruption War: Corruption Legalised -8 ). Inclusive Development. Retrogression. |

Toh Should government also be blamed for the ridiculous price of goods and services we don't import like pepper, tomatoes, onions? Why should the attached below items be costing N500 in some Southern region areas. Before talking about herdsmen activities in the north, are the Southern people so that lazy to produce their own foods? And before talking about the increase in fuel price, what % of increase in fuel price compared to the ridiculous % increase in prices of foods items we don't import?

However, Nigeria’s unhinged fiscal crisis is evident in the administration’s rapacious procurement of foreign and domestic loans, the rash of asphyxiating taxations, and the naira’s steady devaluation. It is bemusing that these debt cravings misalign with the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun’s expert view in November last year that “Internationally and locally, we are not in a position to rely on borrowing” in funding deficits. Instead, he advocated inward-looking. There are avalanche of leakages to be plugged. Unrecovered oil revenues of over $100 billion (documented stolen crude of $17 billion inclusive), evasion of taxes and levies by VIPs, solid minerals wealth surrendered to rogue miners, unrestrained crude oil theft, revenues the MDAs generate but fail to remit, etc. |

He is politician with strong personal interest and not a leader capable of delivering governance we so need. All his focus is 2027 and he is using state resources to do just that. 90 billion shared out to hajj stoners alone at half a million naira each can help 180,000 small businesses replace their gen sets with renewable alternatives. This will reduce petrol use and import, reduce recurrent subsidy correspondingly, free up power for bigger industries to enjoy the grid power among others, but ... |

helinues:if as a farmer, you buy pesticide times three the old price, pay bandits, police and task force then have to sell through market men & women who depend on tomato sales to do every other thing in life so fix prices via union and fix it high, you will understand why those peppee can still be sold for N1000. |

CodeTemplar:200m people couldn't produce their own pesticide except they import? The unions in Nigeria, what have been there usefulness if not money sucking in the name of different fees with no interest of their members . Are the unions not the one fixing the ridiculous prices? ![]() |

The disadvantages of BAT is far more than the advantages. It would have been better that the number one seat of Nigeria was vacant than have someone like mr Emilokan sit on it... |

Despicable mismatch. Though OP is just speaking very big English, yet everything he has said is true to core. We made mistake with Tinubu. I was better off when I was earning 90k than I am now when I'm now earning close to 200k. I can't imagine what will happen if Tinubu remains there for another 2 years |

Of a truth, he inherited a terrible economy. The twist here is that he supported that bad government and his people called others wailers for speaking the truth. Buhari was a disaster. Tinubu hasn't done any significant thing in office after a year if we must say the truth. Politics is different from governance. |
