salem1996:As in, like president like followers. Bigotry and tribalism are the bane of development in this country. A person is clearly unfit for leadership yet the people who claim to be literates voted him in. He publicly dismissed the necessity of variables that are extremely important for making informed decisions that heavily impact the economic and financial welfare of the nation, and his like followers cheered him on to destroy what is left of Buhari's eight years of presidential, administrative, executive and national disaster. |

ogododo:I wonder why CBN thinks keeping Bureau De Change in the system is necessary. The quantum of jobs saved and tax payable by the various BDCs is not commensurate or preferable to the damage the unfavorable foreign exchange rate is doing to the country. |

Okortor:Reserve wey Tinubu don empty since. Reserve is practically empty. What you're seeing from Tinubu is just the preamble. The man just dey start. If this man is not removed from Aso Rock many people go chop sand. Tinubu is easily the worst president Nigeria ever had. |

There are PRACTICAL things Tinubu can do today to show seriousness about the economy which will improve confidence in the country/currency. 1. Encourage production for export: Appoint adviser on export promotion or relocate staff of export promoting council to all clusters of industrial activity around the country, like Aba, Nnewi, Otta, etc. For the guy in Aba, mandate him or her to identify shoe makers, belts, bags, and manufacturers of all sorts of consumer goods. Give them very cheap loans or grants and mandate them to mass produce whatever they can produce. Convert PH port to primary export terminal to West Africa and flood cheap Aba made goods along the entire west African coast. You will support and create thousands of jobs while earning foreign exchange. 2. Adopt made in Nigeria first policy for all government purchases. Ban purchase of foreign cars and other items by govt, unless where Nigeria alternative is unavailable. Give Innoson, Nord, etc easy access to capital and encourage them to set up new plants across Nigeria. Work with banks to set up car financing schemes so that Nigerians can purchase brand new made in Nigeria cars and pay in instalments. I change my car in the UK every three years because car finance is readily available. 3. Communicate plan for fixing our power conundrum. Why is Nigeria about the only country in the whole of Africa that cannot provide electricity for her people? Let's start by explaining why that's the case and how to get out of it. Hardly any Nigerian can tell you why we are in this situation. 4. Demonstrate commitment to farming Let us see president Tinubu physically inspecting farms all over Nigeria. Tell us how many hectares of land we have cultivated for yam, tomatoes, cassava, etc this year compared to last year and how you plan to ramp it up in the coming years. Tell us how you plan to make sure that farmers are safe in their farms. Let's us see the army confronting herdsmen and making sure that villagers are safe in their homes. These are PRACTICAL steps you need to take to demonstrate seriousness. Fiddling with interest rate or chasing aboki up and down will not make the value of Naira to appreciate. Never! |

Naria is never floated. Why banning Binance if it is floated?? Poor economy can't float it currency like the advance economy countries do. U don't have enough dollars reserves to manipulate it in your favour. Go and see what the Japanese re doing with their currency, is almost 150 yen to p1 dollar. But thy knows how to manipulate it in their favour. Japan have up to pp2 trillion dollars reserved. Apart from their trading business. Bizibi: |

...because it is the defacto currency. If Tinubu had any common sense like Buhari, he would have first restructured the economy to remove the dependence on USD via monetary policies and regulations before devaluing the naira. Curious345: |
