Today, I’m proud to announce the launch of 15 high-capacity, locally fabricated boats, marking a significant step towards revolutionizing transportation in Lagos State.

This initiative not only enhances our waterways but also showcases our commitment to sustainable, efficient, and reliable transport options for all Lagosians.

These new ferries, fabricated in partnership with Caverton Marine, are designed to carry 40 passengers each, doubling the capacity of our existing vessels. This project marks the beginning of a new era in water transportation, offering a faster, cleaner, and more comfortable commute.

The deployment of these ferries underscores our dedication to reducing traffic congestion and improving connectivity between communities. By saving hours lost in traffic, we are boosting economic prosperity and enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

This initiative aligns perfectly with our THEMES+ agenda, promoting pollution-free mobility and integrating an intermodal transportation system. The new ferries operate on the Cowry Card payment system, ensuring seamless and efficient service for all users.

We are not stopping here. An additional 25 high-capacity ferries will be fabricated in the second phase, further expanding our waterway routes and reducing turnaround times. These ferries are equipped with cutting-edge technology to ensure safety, comfort, and convenience for all passengers.

Our commitment to enhancing the Lagos transportation system is unwavering. With new patrol boats, a Search and Rescue Unit, and a floating clinic, we are ensuring that our waterways are safe and efficient.

Together, we are building a Lagos that thrives on innovation and sustainability.

Na Tinubu company go get the contract without bidding.

If it's not too expensive, people will surely use it. Boat ride became very expensive after subsidy was removed

You don't even know the difference between a dinghy and a boat. You are from a landlocked place.

From locally fabricated boats, to yachts, to ships.

Hopefully, we'll get there with time.

However, it will take a lot of motivation and peer pressure before I'll journey on that boat, sorry.
