They were at the verge of overthrowing the Fulani before the British came and scammed them. The Hausa constabulary which later became Nigerian army were fighting against Fulani rulership. British agreed with them for a peaceful surrender so that the British can help them remove the Fulani rulers, only for the British to sign agreement for the Fulani rulers to continue through indirect rule
That was Completely true
On the day Lord Lugard entered Kano none of them lifted up a finger to defend the City or the Fulani Emir

They just went about their business as if nothing was happening

Even in Ilorin It was Yoruba Balogun Alanamu who was the Ruler of Ilorin after he had already deposed Emir Momoh and Momoh had killed himself

The British removed Balogun Alanamu and reinstated another Emir

It's obvious you lack in depth knowledge of the subject matter thereby focusing on nonsense. Ahmadu Bello said many unprintable things against Igbos to prevent Hausa from imbibing the independent mindedness of Igbos which is a threat to the Fulani lordship in hausaland.

Let me tell you who the Hausa Constabulary Were

Captain Glover was the Governor of (Lagos)
It was from among the Hausas that had been Captured and enslaved by the Dan Fodio Jihad that were matched to Lagos Coast to be shipped off to Brazil as Slaves by Oba Kosoko
that Glover formed the Hausa Constabulary force from after the British freed them in Lagos after removing Kosoko from the Throne

Now You can imagine how enraged those Hausas were
As allies of the British they now had Machine Guns and were Proficient in using them

Just imagine what could have happened in Northern Nigeria if the British had let those Hausas have their way

Rwanda would have been Childs Play

Jihardist also enslaved Yoruba eg Ajayi Crowther. And how can jihardist slaves be shipped by oba kosoko?

The Jihadhists were Selling the Hausas as Slaves to the Slave Traders at Ilorin who were reselling them to Oba Kosoko and Europeans on the Coast

Kosoko Sold them to the Portuguese who shipped them off to Brazil
Actually Oba Kosoko also had Slave Ships of his own complete with Portuguese Crews plying between Lagos and Bahia in Brazil

I believe it was Martinez Domingo a Mixed Race Brazilian who was running the Slave Ships operation for Kosoko

The Yoruba Lagos and Porto Novo People bearing the surname Martins are his descendants , he had about 40 wives which he selected from the beautiful women about to be loaded into the Portuguese Slave Ships heading to Brazil

The jihardist sold slave from different tribes including Yoruba. Eg Ajayi Crowther. The jihardist sold to Portuguese at the coast. Of course some coastal tribes may serve as middlemen once in a while. This was how Aros sold slaves through ijaw coastal area leading to emergence of ijaw middlemen

There is still a Gobir Kingdom
Most of it is in Niger

Bawa family are still their Rulers

The Gobir are Relatives of the Yorubas and we have similar War strategies for example when Old Oyo fell ,the Next Alaafin moved to New Oyo and Continued Ruling the Oyo kingdom from there
A big part of Niger Republic is Gobir territory and the Bawa Royal family continues to rule their Hausa people from Sabon Birni which is in Sokoto State on the Border with Niger

https://dailytrust.com/gobirawa-marks-on-the-verge-of-extinction/
The Hausa interprets "Gobir" as someone with the (Yoruba kinda) tribal mark (called Gombo). Its very similar to Abaja. The Yoruba version of Gobir is Gongobiri. If we have to go by word root: Gobir would be Gobi in Yoruba.

In that wise we cab continue research and finds out if possibly the cap called "Fila Gobi" were wares sourced or promoted vy the Gobirians at the ancient period by these folks among the Yoruba. Besides, the Yoruba does have their varieties of cap and the favourite is abetiaja.

Gamberi is also from the world Gobir and it means Hausa in Yoruba

Around the 16th century the Gobir hausa were Nomadic Warriors who were military allies of oyo after they had lived in oyo for 10 years Alaafin advised them to establish their own kingdom instead of moving from place to place as Nomadic Warriors.
The Gobir hausa accepted Alaafin's advice and with an Army the Alaafin gave them to help them they established the gobir Kingdom.
That is why gobir hausa often have Yoruba Ancestors in addition to their hausa Ancestors
Much of that Army Alaafin gave them became assimilated with the Gobir people

That's an angle that blends a lot of details into one. Gogobiri were people around Chad-Borno too. although you did not mention Ilorin, I want to believe you are implying the Gobir of Niger where the Oyo homeland was (Oke Oya) aforetimes?

When Oyo people were at Old Oyo

We are told 5 Hausa Kingdoms resisted and Continue to Have Hausa Rulers till Today

1. Suleja in Niger State were the former Hausa Rulers of Zaria

2.Daura -- Daura was to the Hausa what Ile Ife was to the Yoruba, the Cradle and Source of the Hausa Race , they were absolutely not having Usman Dan Fodio's Jihad and Continued to resist until the British arrived and reinstated them.

3 . Gobir---- Gobir were the real strong Hausa Warriors and Kingdom ,they also happened to be relatives of the Yorubas ,
We are told that all of Hausaland went down only because Gobir went down

4.Argungu

5. Ningi

-whoever knows the history of the last two Hausa Kingdoms still Standing should please tell us

The Kanuri were colonised for 10 years by the Dan Fodio's Jihad before kicking them all out with much anger and tremendous Swagger

We hear there was a massive blood bath before what was left of the Jihad fled Borno
Bump... Saved.

True that... A Yoruba man Balogun Alanamu (and his Yoruba Baloguns or generals) were historically fully in charge of Ilorin in the late 1890s as the Ilorin ruler as of the arrival of George Goldie and his British Colonial gang of traders.

Why are almost all of our Northern traditional rulers Fulanis?

Why is it so difficult to find Hausa traditional rulers in these prominent historical positions?

Usman Danfodio truly left his mark there.
