Most comments are based on ignorance. There are tyoes of crude oil and differ6types of products they can produce. Kaduna refinery when functional was producing base oil and LPFO better than Port Harcourt that was mainly light products. The plan was to have the capability of producing our entire petroleum product needs and since our Oil is light and sweet we needed heavy crude for the Kaduna refinery.

The stupid idea to set up a refinery in the North was Buhari's idea when he was the oil minister.

Do you know how much it cost to build a pipelines per kilometre? It will cost $1-2m per km and this refinery is in Kaduna which should be over 1,000km away.

Those that did this don't have one Nigeria in mind.

I doubt it was designed to only produce foreign crude. My guess is that it was designed to produce light and heavy crude. It is different from other refineries because it can produce lubricating oils and asphalt.

It's true na. There is nothing shocking about it, it's a well known fact. Refined crude from south is pumped through the pipe to the refinery in stages. Petrol, folllowed by kerosene then diesel.

Actually, no beef, na turkie and schikin, black olives, mushrooms, green pepper, carrots, eggs, sussage, garlic, crayfish, dried whole Cameroon pepper and other spices.

Security was the only reason given for building the inland refinery located in Kaduna but this reason only gets senseless by the minute.

The truth is that it's all about the Hausa/Fulani cabal's musrule and shallow reasoning since the 1970s.

The setting up of refinery in Kaduna was not because Kaduna had oil or seaport. It was set up for strategic purpose.


The purpose was to refine and serve the entire northern region so as to avoid the long distance of going to Lagos Ph and warri which is pathetically the current situation now.

Obj. May you end well. Baba had proferred a lasting solution to these moribund refineries , long ago. Privatize them, na lie. They just want to keep stealing from Nigerians all in the name of TAM.
Allow a competent leader take over, you'd not allow that. There are much older refineries in the west that are still functional due to proper maintaining and accountability. Amazingly, they would refine and sell petrol to us. Nigerian government's maintenance culture is -1%
