Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has frowned at the decision of the current administration to reinstate the old national anthem.

She particularly faulted the timing of the change, querying how the return to the old anthem was going to tackle the hardship in the country.

The movie star lamented that the country is facing “excoriating hardship and lack of good governance on every level.”

On her social media handle, she sarcastically wrote: “In the midst of excoriating hardship & lack of good governance on every level but not to worry, going back to a colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism back into our veins, a much-needed drug.”

In another post, Henshaw wrote, “The labour of our heroes past… o ti lo [is gone].”

DAILY POST recalls that President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law to reinstate the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”

A country where hunger,and insecurity has become the order of the day,the only thing that could make our leaders preek to rise was to resurrect a dead national anthem..

the worst of Tinubu is a best of pandora.
He didn’t initiate and complete any school from scratch for 8 years because it wasn’t in his manifesto.

300k student are on the verge of missing WAEC , yet he couldn’t speak , and the people supporting him.

That line is what they want to remove. They feel ashamed knowing that the labor of our heroes past are now in vain. They stopped the teaching of History in schools so that the newer generations won’t know what the heroes past have done before. Now, they’ve removed the national anthem that praised the heroes past knowing fully that their names will never be praised or called for good in Nigeria history.

Nonsense people. God will punish Tinubu and everyone that has caused this country and it’s citizens pain.

Like Buhari like Tinubu. Just the way Buhari changed Democracy day from May 29 to June 12 because of Ibrahim Babangida who overthrew Buhari. Tinubu is here again reverting to old National anthem because Olusegun Obasanjo was the one who changed "Nigeria we hail thee", and Tinubu is doing everything possible to assert his claim that he is the most influential political figure and not Obasanjo in the South-western part of Nigeria.
