Thank God oooo

I thought this DEMONIC PARTY called APC has killed what is left of our labour unions since 2015. I can see more action less talk...

Please do not relent... The politicians that have put us in this mess are less than 3% of our entire population

WE ARE THE ONES SUFFEREING FOR THEIR INEPTITUDE
So shutting down power for the 97% makes sense huh Politicians have the funds to power their house for months.

The only realistic pay for workers is 120,000 because if you want to break down everything and how expensive things are in Nigeria you'd realize that a family cannot even feed well without a quality amount of three rubbers of Garri
three rubbers of rice,
beans two rubbers
beverages
yams for the family
Summing these up in our current economic backlash, I'm saying the minimum wage should be like 120,000 naira and above

Unfortunately, the nationwide blackout in Nigeria is a direct result of the government's failure to address the demands of the labour unions. The strike highlights the urgent need for a fair and sustainable minimum wage that reflects the economic realities of the country.
Labour is being unreasonable. The GDP per capita of Nigeria is N150k a month. Where in the world does a minimum wage worker earn close to the GDP per capita?

Nigerian workers are lazy, economically unproductive and entitled.

It is universally known that a man shall eat from the sweat of his brow. The economic output of an average worker is only N150k a month, so where is a minimum wage worker coming from?

I might be wrong, but I don't think NLC under Oshiomole used to shut down the power grid. Power was always made available irrespective of how long the NLC strikes held.
Yes you are not far from the truth. But a quick one.. How much was a bag of rice during Oshomole? How much was a liter of fuel then?

Baba, things have changed, the hardship is so massive that if care is not taking the way crime will increase will be so alarming that the country will be safe for us.

The only language the government understand is Strike. They should attend to needs of the masses. There is hunger in the land. So I support it.

Like someone earlier stated, we won't even know the difference because na steady blackout we dey face.

All I know is that this current NLC isn't as formidable as the Oshiomole-led NLC of that year. They will now to FG after their personal needs have been settled. I no trust that TUC guy.

This is welcome development by Labour... Let them shut down all filling stations a d market as well. Enough is Enough.

I have been waiting to hear anyone that will call Peter Obi name or drag him over this current strike, the Thunder that will visit the person generation is still still having breakfast is Conakry.

How can a sane country allow his citizens go through this pain without doing anything. How can the government be so wicked and cruel to see people die on daily basis without doing anything about it.

It's high time we call a spade a spade.... Enough of this hardship.

My pain is that some hungry and clueless individual will still come out to condemn the strike that Obi is supporting labour to go on strike. May anyone wishing Nigerians to go through this pain of hardship, may God strike shut thier mouth forever.

The heat is on.... Let them shut the country down. Leaving the light is totally unacceptable, let darkness looks the country, since our cry means nothing to them.

It is not a good thing to shut down power grid. It’s affecting the same masses they’re having the strike for. No light since last night. I don’t support shutting down the power grid.
are they on strike for the masses? they're on strike for government workers only. every other person not working for the government is just suffering unnecessary

I witnessed the collapse. The power was intermittent like the way generators off. I knew it was a National shutdown.

I believe next election, people will vote based on who will deliver the country and not by tribe.

If only Jonathan won the 2015 election, Nigeria would still be better.

We bleeped up big time.

Tribalism is abysmal.

I went to a market yesterday, goods were everywhere, but no buyers.

Typical Nigerian mindset of avoiding the issue by diverting to another issue.

Thank God this is not a matter of opinion but fact.

The economic output of the average Nigerian worker (aka GDP per capita) is less than N150,000 a month. Yes or no?

If yes why does a minimum wage worker expect to earn anything close to the average worker, or put it another way why does a minimum wage worker feel entitled to reap from where he has not sown? From whose output shall we pay the unproductive worker?

If no, then contradict my figures with your own figure.

You want to debate politicians, create another thread, this thread is about minimum wage workers.

when your oppressors are busy looting the treasury that’s meant for you and your family, did they think about the GDP you always mentioned here.. you are even ignorant about the fact on GDP growth in Tinubu government. Tinubu government and his cronies are never ready to cut their salaries to half or quarter, they are even proposing bills to increased their salaries more. Keep on defending your oppressors. The strike never reset some people’s brain yet. Seyi Tinubu is been given billions of contracts still Nigerian workers are wallowing in penury.

Infact power was usually stable than when there was not strike then because there won't be anyone to play with it like toys as usual.
We can claim to be fighting government and be punishing our like this. Those thieves have solar , generators and free fuel to power them. There are aspects that should spared in the fight.
Light , water , market and ATM, hospital ( at least emergency services)
