When I remember that he was the ADC to Tinubu when the latter was a governor and also remember Tinubu's penchant for shady and dubious deals, it gives a clue on the kind of character the Egbetokun could be. 

A notorious narcotics drug trafficker engaging in criminal state capture with a penchant for shady and dubious deals always works with crooked cops.

Egbetokun was rewarded with the post of IG of police not because he was competent but simply because he was loyal.... loyal to the game.
