It has even started. Where I used to board for 200naira before is now 300naira. The destination is less than 2km

You think that Ododo in Kogi state will pay 60k as minimum wage?

Even the Agulu liar couldn't pay the National minimum wage when he was Governor. He paid less than minimum wage.

Good but I may doubt N100k

I think both parties will eventually settle on range btw N80,000 - N90,000.

Lol.. Who be "we"? Are you a Federal Civil servant?

I'm suprised "non civil servants" just carry this minimum wage matter on their head like they'll benefit from the salary increase

Labour force of 1.2m is just a small fraction compared to over 30-40m private sector workers and business people across Nigeria.
Do you know some people are happy about this current imbroglio and they won't benefit a dime from the NLC fight.
This situation is likened to minority pushing majority into crisis

If the #100k is approved, that is when you will know the real inflation. Everybody will want to take a bite. Even private schools won't be left behind. They will also claimed they have increased their teacher's package. Let's all brace ourselves up.

Labour don't know what to do. Instead of fighting high cost, they are busy fighting rubbish. If government pays then the needed salary, why should the government subsidies fuel price again? Hyperinflation is knocking seriously and the idiot nlc dwarf and tuc thinks they are fighting for living wage? What a senseless humans.

Landlord will increase their rents. Foodstuffs will increase because everyone now knows they are being paid high.

What a useless union

We are heading for the mother of all inflation, we saint seen nothing yet. Senior civil servants will start their own agitation, it means top civil servants, professors etc will start their own strike asking for 1m a month as traditionally 1:10 is the ratio of the minimum salary and the highest salary in the civil service.

These people called NLC are parts of the politicians but pretending to be at the side 0f Nigerians.

They always deceiving Nigerians to stop them from revolting.

Even if Federal government agree on N500k salary, the government will systematically increase the price of energy, import duties, higher tax etc to get those money back. eg. Bag of rice may go for N700k. Paint of garri N50k etc

Release Nnamdi Kanu now!

No wahala, let us see if every state will be able to pay including the private sector and domestic workers.
There are down sides to this which many ignorant people don't know.
1. Most private companies or even government will downsize which would lead to massive loss of jobs.
2. Those that don't downsize will increase the cost of there products and services rendered.

Last last, inflation will skyrocket and that 100k will just be like 30k in the hand.
Let dem downsize oo... At least abuse of Manpower or Labour will be reduced..

And all those excesses leakages on Wages will be reduced too

They care less about that. They are only interested in their selfish fight that would still boomerang heavily on them. If you are being paid #100k, I see no reason not to increase my house rent for a room self contain to #1m.

The #100k is just the basic salary. I also have the right to increase my house rent

The politicians don't want to cut cost but they want nigeria workers to cut cost,100k is ok,if only our children will go to school from primary to university free, hospital free, free transport to and fro, free accomodations, free working equipment because our security agents buy their kits themselves. This is the only way 100k will be manageable because it will go just for food and clothing.

Gigantic Inflation pro max doing push up around the corner!!!!!

When Low grade mind people & vagabonds occupies the corridor of government, anarchy, confusion, chaos, dysfunctions, problems left right & centre it's inevitable.

The solution is pretty simple;
1. Government should cut down the cost of governance.
2. Provide security.
3. Provide steady electricity.
4. Subsidise health care services, transportation, housing etc.

That is why the government should provide free accomodations, free transport to and fro, free medical for all workers and their four children as covered by NHIS

But remember inflation has not yet started, it comes after the minimum wage is signed into law, that's when we will See the mother of inflation. But the good thing is that we will still shout and get used to it. Fact check it, since 1999, the minimum prices of items do follow the approval of national minimum wage. Since 80s till now, price of a bag of rice is always around the minimum wage, so once 100k is approved, then rice goes to 90+ or above 100k, just check. when Buhari signed 30k, rice was 32k, when it was 17500 rice was 20-22k when it was 7500, rice was 9-10k like that. And other products. But fuel maybe down when dangote supplies PMS to the market but yet, we will adjust finally.

Should that not be what they should fight for instead of the so called huge wage? So, government should provide all these for labour alone and still increase their salaries because you guys are the only people in Nigeria? Okay. No problem

I thank Obaseki for raising the bar.
Yes 70k, but was not done in line with the way it was expected. the scale up was not from basic.. parametric variances were not calculated. he actually fooled Edo worker grin.
he would have tagged it as pay rise not minimum wage.
He is a smart Man. grin
Some friends in Edo State Civil service that I know are Insulting him and waiting for election day saying they will vent their anger at the poll.
