God bless you.The government had already made mistake by taking it to 60k.They offer nothing from 9-4pm in those offices beside collecting bribe to render any service. The half only go to work when it is time to pay salaries. Many state will never pay such money. And if you do any how.The governor will sack you and nothing will happen. They are just 1.2 million jobless group as corrupt as politicians

it is you that is unreasonable. How can you be supporting payment of ghost workers and secret society people who just put themselves on the FG payroll by crook a whopping N500k?

Imagine those imaginary labs with many lab attendants. LGAs with few cars but so many drivers? Rent seeking task forces.
Let's not forget everyone of the civil workforce is not a lecturer marking 1500 scripts every 6 months with lecturing o.
What are you saying?
You're talking as if you're deeply high on something.
How does the concerns you raised relate to the mininum wage?
Those are systemic problem that our government refused to solve.

Dude is actually smart.

Poor parents means more uneducated and unexposed children.

I mean the type that are constantly debating on whether to spend their last money on food or data.

When they eventually get the data, they will come online to vent their frustration on women and opposition parties. 70% of them will be on Nairaland romance section while the other 30% will be on politics.

Lack of data means they can't use platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok etc.

Nairaland becomes their top destination.

Since they are in the majority, it means more traffic for Seun.

Traffic is money.

systemic problems that will drain the govt purse and deny the real working workers the increment they desperately need. That the point.

ghost workers come in degrees. I am talking of the one who get employed, don't work, but get paid.
They aren't really ghost but are like ghosts to the system. One LGA with 5 vehicles but 40 drivers on payroll. Imagine that. No lab equipments but so many lab attendent and technologists. Task forces just extorting the private sector and eating it in addition to salary. These people too are in line for increase and will share the money with the truly working civil workforce.

Solution is;

2. Peg customs exchange at N500 to $1 for 2 years. This would create stability and bring down prices immediately.
^^^
grin

It doesn't quite work that way.

Some of your other suggestions are spot on but this one up here will not work. You will end up with 2 or more different official exchange rates and the usual round tripping will begin.

It can work if there is sincerity of purpose. If a way is not found to reduce the differential in the exchange rate and then stabilise it for a reasonable period of time, any salary increases would amount to nothing. Prices of goods must be forced down quickly.

It is the government's responsibility to now check the round tripping. It is actually easy to spot round tripping if the necessary measures are in place.

Of course, the long term goal is to locally produce a significant portion of our consumed commodities and ensure transfer of relevant technologies.

Some of u are so full of emotions that u have given up on any form of señsè no matter how common it is.
I support increment of minimum wage, I have said it severally because I take pride in my country paying it's workers properly, what I don't support which any sensible Nigerîà devoid of emotions triggered by politics is the fact that 494k is unrealistic, even 200k minimum wage is unrealistic, it will turn this upside down, it is not only FG that pays wages, get small señsè for God sake.
Ditch this nonsense emotional nonsense. Even the NLC knows FG won't pay the 650k and 494k. It was a ploy for the government to negotiate for something reasonable. 200k is unrealistic but without increment of wages this country has been on hyper inflation since buhari last year in power. So how does increasing minimum wage be any different? The thing about you people is, you are intelligent by half. Hyper inflation, hyper inflation like we were not experiencing one the past 2yrs.

If not for your emotions, I don't see the difference between you and I are saying that much.
NLC can demand #1m minimum wage, I pray govt should accept it.
When food companies, utility companies etc pay that amount to their staffs which includes cleaners and securities and then factor it into cost of production that will determine the new price of the goods in the market, you will realize you haven't faced hyper inflation before.

That is called yoruba economic leadership. Similar to that of their cousins the fulanis. You wonder why your cesspit has been on down spiral mode since independence? These two have been the managers, so it shouldn't surprise anyone, unless the hypocrites. The worst part is that the foolish useful idiot Igbos like you are following them because your criminal peter obi told you to do so in the name of becoming their president and changing their country. Something that even the new born knows that it's absolutely impossible.

You are obtuse. I criticized a government handling of minimum wage but somehow you find a way to insert 'candidate' to the discuss.
