Is feminism supposed to prevent pregnancy?

Well, if the so called father of the child voluntarily refuses to play any role in the life of the child since birth, there is nothing wrong in the mother giving the child her own surname. Who knows, may be due to mutual agreement the man was just meant to be a sperm donor!

It would only be an issue if the father have been playing active role in the life of the child and contributing to his welfare and the mother insist against the father's will on giving the child her own surname. That would be an aberration; and any man who take that lightly is not fit to be a man.

B4 nko? Go and find out. Was she raped? We don't need money, just show your face that you are the one that owns the child and it's yours. Even if the man is so poor, the girl family will raise the Child and send to the man after some years. Reasons yorubas not really interested in cash as bride price. We value the ownership of pregnancy than what is being paid. Yorubas don't accept bastards. I even learnt part of a tribe will go outside to get pregnant and give birth to answer Thier papa name. No wonder things is not normal in some part of the country.
AFTER RANTING, WIZKID AND DAVIDO ARE GOOD EXAMPLE FOR YORUBA CULTURE.

WHAT DO U MEAN BY BASTARD AGAIN?

Thank you for clarifying, Linda. It's great to hear that your son's surname has always been Ikeji. Family names are important, and it's good to know there's been consistency.

This is one reason Igbo girls no dey quick see husband.

If she takes in for you while dating, the pikin go dey answer her father's surname even if you dey cater for all your child's need.

This tradition is too archaic.
It is done by some parts of Igbo land.

What do you mean by ashawo?

Traditionally speaking, any man who does not pay your bride price has no child with you even if he likes let him have 20 children without bride price he has no child.

Traditionally, that child is her father's child in Igboland....

So what has she done to deserve the label ashawo?

Age only tells faster in women who stress themselves. If you doubt it, ask Kate Henshaw and Genevieve Nnaji.
That's why men age and die much earlier than women.

You will find any reason in d world to justify your prejudice and bigotry.
This same reason is why there are less fatherless children in that part of the world.
If a father denies responsibility for a pregnancy and a woman raises a child without financial and emotional involvement of a father,is it not the same bastard?
Is there a woman who doesn’t know who impregnated her?
The difference is,does the father accept responsibility?
The involvement of a father by accepting responsibility with physical presence or financial involvement is what makes a father.
If Linda Ikeji’s baby daddy says(just like he did) he doesn’t want to have anything to do with the child,u go force am?

His name was never ikeji because the father is not ikeji - he has a name.

So the name was changed from the father's name to yours..

In fact, who is a feminist? And why do these NL guys believe she shouldn't/doesn't have sexual desires?

Nope! The father clearly said he doesn't want any association with the child. She insisted he is the father and they can do a DNA, but the man refused to acknowledge the child even after birth. I guess she had to do the needed to blur him out.
The man will need to change his stance someday, pikin na pikin o

He may not. Some men turn their back and it remains turned. What I don't understand is how the guy got to hate her so much. From the conversations she spilled, they had a relationship. I guess he felt she wanted to trap him with pregnancy.
