Well, if the so called father of the child voluntarily refuses to play any role in the life of the child since birth, there is nothing wrong in the mother giving the child her own surname. Who knows, may be due to mutual agreement the man was just meant to be a sperm donor! It would only be an issue if the father have been playing active role in the life of the child and contributing to his welfare and the mother insist against the father's will on giving the child her own surname. That would be an aberration; and any man who take that lightly is not fit to be a man. |

Thank you for clarifying, Linda. It's great to hear that your son's surname has always been Ikeji. Family names are important, and it's good to know there's been consistency. |

What do you mean by ashawo? Traditionally speaking, any man who does not pay your bride price has no child with you even if he likes let him have 20 children without bride price he has no child. Traditionally, that child is her father's child in Igboland.... So what has she done to deserve the label ashawo? neonly: |

Age only tells faster in women who stress themselves. If you doubt it, ask Kate Henshaw and Genevieve Nnaji. That's why men age and die much earlier than women. Laple0541: |

phemray:You will find any reason in d world to justify your prejudice and bigotry. This same reason is why there are less fatherless children in that part of the world. If a father denies responsibility for a pregnancy and a woman raises a child without financial and emotional involvement of a father,is it not the same bastard? Is there a woman who doesn’t know who impregnated her? The difference is,does the father accept responsibility? The involvement of a father by accepting responsibility with physical presence or financial involvement is what makes a father. If Linda Ikeji’s baby daddy says(just like he did) he doesn’t want to have anything to do with the child,u go force am? |

Seun362:He may not. Some men turn their back and it remains turned. What I don't understand is how the guy got to hate her so much. From the conversations she spilled, they had a relationship. I guess he felt she wanted to trap him with pregnancy. |
