This generation is blessed with a father indeed.

A man who still stands on his teaching and lifestyle of Holiness and entire sanctification even in the midst of this putrefied and perverse generation.

Many have even come to him physically to challenge his teaching of Holiness.

He once spoke of one who came to him and told him that God send him to tell him (kumuyi) that Holiness does not exist. He (Kumuyi) told the man that God send him (the man) for him (kumuyi) to Tell him that Holiness exist.

Some have called him a false prophet.

Some have critized his manner of doing things.

He has had spirits come to him physically to attack him because of his stand, yet he has refused to compromise.

Even at This age when men will think that he should rest because he is old and has done much already, is The time he's even doing greater works than he has done before.

Even at this age, he still moves across states and nations convening Mass Global Crusades Tagged: Global Crusade with Kumuyi (Gck) and through this uniting the body of Christ like never before.

Even at this age, he still stands for over an hour preaching The word. In certainly conferences, he even does that thrice in a day i.e over three (3) hours of standing.

He still holds special meetings for Ministers of all Churches during the interdenominational Crusades. He still holds special meetings within the deeper life Church were he raises pastors, leaders and faithful workers for kingdom enlargement.

TOPIC: THE SUPERNATURAL VICTORY OF GOD'S COMMISSIONED SERVANTS
TEXT: JOSHUA 1:1-9
• 1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
• 2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
• 3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
• 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
• 5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
• 6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
• 7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
• 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
• 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

INTRODUCTION
As we study these verses, we are looking at the message with the topic, THE SUPERNATURAL VICTORY OF GOD'S COMMISSIONED SERVANTS.
vs 2. Thank God He Himself said that Moses was still His servant, so, there must not be any doubt in the heart of Joshua or the children of Israel. Even though God said Moses would not enter into the Promise Land, he went to heaven after his death. The passing on of a man of God does not stop the work of God. His servant passes on, Jehovah is still there, the work of the Lord is still there, and the gospel still goes on. Even though Martin Luther, John Wesley and other men of God who carried the gospel torch have gone, the Master abides and remains.
vs 3-4. The Lord gave the promise to Abraham and repeated it to Moses, and now to Joshua. The whole land was his to possess by promise, but he was not going to possess any part his foot does not tread on. Same with the promise of God, we are not going to possess whatever part our feet have not trodden upon. He gave him the parameter, perimeter and territories to cover, but they are not his until his foot treads over them.
vs 5. God promised to be with Joshua as He was with Moses. We have nothing to fear, no worry and anxiety. God is greater than all men, all opposers and persecutors. He is nearer to you than the persecutor or any man or woman that you may fear. God said no man will be able to stand before Joshua all the days of his life. I got that, I receive that. God will not fail or forsake you, be strong and of a good courage.
vs 7 "Only be thou strong and very courageous..." This is the very foundation and solid ground upon which to build every other thing. Without courage, you will not be able to take a step, Joshua will not be able to face the Canaanites. Without courage, you will be weak in yourself and nursing the wound of yesterday, your vision will be blurred and the revelation will be cloudy, you will not be able to rise from the bed in the morning, without courage, you will be nothing.
Whatever courage, whatever knowledge you have will be in the cold room, fridge and freezer, useless. Without courage, there is no strength in your voice and decision. We need courage to obey, carry out and keep all commandments of the Lord. Why do we hear so much and we lack courage to do them? We are not short of knowledge, it is lack of courage that makes us unable to do all that we need to do. When you do that, you are weak in your conviction. Don't go to the left or right from the word of God so that you can prosper in all your ways.
vs 8. Studying the word of God gives us confidence and courage. Meditate on the power, precept and Possibilities in His word before you come out of your chamber and you are already a giant. When you come out, the things you see and the people you meet will not become overwhelming giants to you. Reading the word makes you to have good success.
vs 9. If you will turn vs 9 to prayer, you will know that the highest among angels, the highest among all on earth has given a clear command, and you will go in His strength and you will be strong because He cannot command you to do what you don't have the ability to do. Be strong, don't fear the little child, the teenager, be of good courage, don't be afraid of anything. Let your mind be clear, God is by you all-round, you will not fail in all you do. This is why we need to take the Scriptures serious. You will be stronger, higher and able to do the work God committed to you in Jesus name.
The message is divided into three parts:

A. THE COLLECTIVE CONSIDERATION OF THEIR GREAT COMMISSION - Joshua 1:3-5; Hebrews 13:5; Psalms 2:8

Joshua 1:3-5. God was talking to the children of Israel collectively. If we look at the state, local government, and put something there, a local church here and there, and we are not waiting for the people before we do the needful. Our foot will tread in that place, and a transmission center will be established in that place, and the voice of the gospel, the women, children and youth ministry will spring up here and there, etc. We will possess the land from the wilderness and remote areas where some amenities have not reached. Once we get there, satan, demons, evil spirits, occultists and oppressors must relocate, light must manifest and darkness must disperse.
You go to a place and Deeper Life is not there, Deeper Life is coming there. "We tried, we could not" or "they drove us away" is because you didn't read vs 5 and pray through on it. They will go away with their powers and God will establish the church there. No man will be able to stand before you all the says of your life. Some people say old age has come, and can barely stand and walk, today, you will stand and walk. All evidence of old age that limits will be removed from your life.

Before the rock where there is no water, when Pharaoh threatened, as he raised his rod and the Amalekites were destroyed, as the Red Sea was parted, Jordan will divide before you, "As I was with Moses, so I will be with you". Always open your two eyes to see. I can see the giant in you rising.

Hebrews 13:5 "Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." This was the same promise God gave Joshua in vs 5 being repeated in the New Testament. The great commission is our collective assignment and as we are moving on, we will possess.

Psalm 2:8. "Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession." Can we possess this country? Can we take it away from those usurping authority over her? Can we take the gospel everywhere? Can we all agree that according to the Promise that God cannot fail, He will give unto us?

"Ask of me..." forget the devil, the demons and intruders, the unlawful people, God will give us the heathen for our inheritance. I see the possession coming, and the uttermost part of the earth for your possession. You must possess. By the power of God, and the grace of the Holy Ghost, it will happen.

B. THE CONTAGIOUS ‎COURAGE OF A GODLY CONQUEROR (Joshua 1:6-7,9; 10:12-13,24-25)

When the leader is courageous, the leader will be courageous. If the Shepherd is courageous, the sheep, the members will be courageous. If the Pastor, the members will be. But smite the shepherd and the shepherd becomes like an amphibian, without backbone. If the Leader, Pastor, parents, champion is courageous, the followers will be courageous because courageous is contagious.

Joshua 1:6. If a child of God sits down by the side of the road, dropping his head, and weeping profusely while having the Bible in his hands, the Lord will look at and pass him by because he is not taking the pill, heaven's energy into his life but sitting down there like an orphan. He can take away every sickness and weakness, He will make you strong. Meditate on the word He has spoken to you. The work God has given you, no other person will do it even if he has thousands other people to use. He has decided from heaven that you will be the one to do it. Be strong, you don't need any other thing. Don't be distracted, don't deviate, be focused.

When God has given you the commandment and you are about it, and someone comes to challenge you, point to the Almighty so he can ask and challenge Him. Be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid, neither be dismayed. The Lord your God is with you wherever you go. As you go back home today, no accident, no evil personality on your way, you will stand in the morning doing morning with your megaphone, no harm will come to you. In the night, you are coming from Bible study, no harm shall come to you. You are dutiful and busy with what God has given you, His angels will surround you and His power will overshadow you.
ch 10:12. Joshua was courageous enough to tell the sun and moon to stand still.
vs 13. He did undoable things. With the courage you have, you will command hindrance out of the way. Both the sun and moon obeyed Joshua and the Lord fought for Israel. He will fight for you, His promise will not fail in your life, you don't need any other thing, His promise will not fail in your life.
vs 24. Joshua called the men of war and captains of army which went with him to come near and put their feet on the necks of the men, and told him to be strong and of a good courage. What God said to him, he made use and overcame and gave it to the people repeated to the people. You are going home today stronger, higher and more courageous and unconquerable than you came for thus shall the Lord defeat all your enemies and you will be victorious. This courage from Joshua which passed to me shall be your portion in Jesus name.

C. THE CONSTANT COMPANIONSHIP OF OUR GLORIOUS CAPTAIN.

(Joshua 1:5,9,17; Isaiah 41:10,14-15; Jeremiah 1:7-10,19; 15:21; 31:11; 2 Timothy 4:18)

Joshua 1:5. The same way you felt His presence here, same way you will feel it when you leave here and when the enemies come anywhere you go. The strength of character you feel here will follow you everywhere you go. A new day has come, God will not leave or forsake you. Be not afraid, be not dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you whithersoever you go.
Joshua 1:9 "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." I am going to mention some places which will surprise you. You are going to your inlaw's place to ask for the hand of their daughter in marriage. You have been told that the father is very difficult and will bully on you, and the mother is very hard to deal with, as you go there, the Lord will give you victory. You go with assurance, God has given you that lady and that man go to the Marriage Committee with assurance. Go to that interview with assurance, God will stand by you in all the questions you will be asked. Be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid, your God is with you wherever you go.

vs 17. The people assured Joshua that as they listened to Moses, so will they listen to Joshua. The Lord will bend the hearts and minds of people towards you. Nobody will be difficult for and run you out of the calling you have received from the Lord. We will be an encouragement to you, it is written down in heaven, remove all fears and doubts from your mind, you will succeed.
Isaiah 41:10. Be not afraid, God will be with you.

vs 14. God will help you, He will be with you, He will make you strong. The devil will not knock your teeth away but you shall prevail over him. God will put testimony in your mouth. God will put testimony in your mouth and you will not fail.
Jeremiah 1:7-10. God assured Jeremiah of His presence, and told him to go. He has put His words in your mouth. You have work to do and it will be done.
vs 19. They shall fight against you but they will not prevail. They shall not prevail against you. You are delivered.
ch 15:21. You are delivered and set free out of the hands of the terrible. They will not overcome or overpower you. The strength and power of the Lord is going back home with you. Victory all the way through.
ch 31:11 "For the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he." He has delivered and set you free, you are no more a weak vessel but a strong one.
2 Timothy 4:18 "And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." This promise will come to pass as you rise and take it to the Lord in prayer. Victory will be your portion in Jesus name. Believe the word of God that He will never leave or forsake you. It is a day of victory and overcoming.

Prayer for the GS:
Pray for our father in the Lord that his strength be renewed over and over, and all the promises of God for Joshua will be fulfilled in his life in Jesus name.

In his book, "An outline of the history of the world," Herbert Davies relates the epic story of how a cleric put himself in the path of potential backlash to deliver ancient Rome from annihilation at the hands of an all-conquering army of barbarians. The predators were already in the regions of the Roman Empire; all the soldiers needed was an order from their leader, Attila the Hun, to move in and overrun Rome. From this she was saved, (so it was said), “by the earnest entreaties of Leo, Bishop of Rome, who entered Attila’s camp and warned him not to risk the vengeance of heaven by plundering the city, and the Hun leader was so impressed with the bishop's sincerity and intensity of purpose that he withdrew his troops."

This event has gone into history as one of the rare demonstrations of the intervention of religious leaders during times of crisis in the State. Although God establishes His Church strategically to prepare His people for heaven, He expects them to first live here on earth righteously, ethically and honourably so their intercessory prayers would receive attention before His Throne. The Church and its leaders then are to produce faithful representatives who would plead for heaven to step in when the people face dreadful consequences for their wrongdoings. The marauder was moved by the bishop's translucent candour, not his sacerdotal gear, to concede to him.

Heaven won’t attend to people simply on account of their hood or cassock. God looks for men and women of incontestable integrity, humility and credibility who wouldn’t deceive the world with an exhibitionist and pietistic profession of salvation. Of such was the man whose "sincerity and intensity of purpose" God honoured to rescue Rome.

Of such also, by the reckoning of many here in Africa and beyond, is Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry and convener of the international gospel brand, Global Crusade with Kumuyi. He has stood on the unpopular ground that one’s Christianity (salvation) would remain inchoate, incomplete and insular, until its only identity feature blazes holiness through and through. The pastor takes God’s demands on holiness at face value. You can’t try to run circles around God on this condition. You're not to resort to a ‘white lie’ to save your life or to escape an embarrassing twist of events. You must not also aim at replaying Uzzah’s fatal heroics in the Bible by breaking God’s laws in order to ‘help’ His work.

For Kumuyi, the strength of a man and his society lies in their God-inspired integrity. Mankind needs it more than his physical food. Take it away, and all you have remaining is a hollow vessel, vain, vulnerable and valueless. He once spoke of holiness in terms of being gifted a car without its engine. He said, "If you say you love me and you give me a car, but you take away its engine, the gift is useless. So is Christianity without holiness."

That is the state of all men and women alienated from the laws of their Creator.

These are the principles Kumuyi has taught and practised since he got the new birth of salvation on April 5, 1964, six decades ago this year. Like Samuel, the kingmaker, centuries ago in Israel, Kumuyi isn’t troubled that he might be ambushed for some dark deeds to knock him down from his high horse. Samuel challenged his compatriots to bring forth evidence of any abuse of office or inappropriate act of his if they had one.

Last week, a video recorded years ago surfaced in the social media suggesting that Pastor Kumuyi and his wife had ‘fled’ to the United Kingdom after he had reportedly counselled Nigerians to pray for Nigeria and the government and to patiently bear with the authorities’ attempts to fix the polity. Those who made the spent clip go viral sought to deflate the large image of the revered Deeper Life Bible Church leader and move Nigerians to conclude that Kumuyi, after all, is a man who could easily abandon his holiness pursuit and surrender to the urge of the flesh. They asked, “What kind of preacher is this Church leader who would forsake his challenged flock and seek refuge in the cloying luxury of Europe?"

But, Kumuyi’s stay in London at the time of the interview in the footage was short-lived. He has been resident in Nigeria since. There’s been no relocation. Indeed, when the story was hitting the phones, the man of God was in neighbouring Cameroon for the May edition of his GCK. It was held in the city of Douala for six days.

But as Pastor Kumuyi turns 83 on June 6, 2024, a look at his life brings up a man whose plea is that we are free to strip him of his ecclesiastical trappings and assess him on the basis of what we find. In other words, he's saying, ‘Don’t spare me because I’m a pastor or denominational founder; don't also go cultural by being awed by my age.’

If we accept the challenge, what do we get? We would be facing a man feeding on a credo that his relationship with Jesus Christ has taught him that a leader in society must be so disciplined and committed to selfless service that he must seek the comfort and welfare of the led above his own person or family. He can’t go to sleep until his subjects have first gone to bed.

He teaches us to disregard those who mask their villainy with their position in religion and politics. They believe they are above the law once they’re cloaked in authority. They remind us of a job-seeker who had his pastors as his guarantors. His prospective employers told him that they wanted assessment from those who knew him outside the Church. They wanted to know his character without religious props.

There are lessons from Kumuyi. Our land will come out of the woods when leaders take to the way of integrity not derived from shallow religion (cant cassock, hollow hood) but from God, Who reciprocates with answers to their prayers for healing for the nation. In this wise, Kumuyi’s ministry has recorded spectacular marvels. Inveterate sinners have been saved; the dead have been brought back to life; a child born without genitals had these vital members created by Heaven following the prayers of Kumuyi at the just-concluded Douala GCK. There’s more: a watchful followership gets the message of their mentor, and bonds with their leaders to deliver a godly and prosperous society.

That's what’s been happening in the Church Kumuyi pastors. Years ago when he visited the fledgling Deeper Life Bible Church in Ghana, Kumuyi sold his car to support the assembly. He recalls, "…because of the sacrifices I made in those early days, our pastors and other workers also followed suit and made sacrifices…sometimes when a leader does somethKumuyi at 83: Beyond the preacher’s cassocking, and even without compelling others… they just do it."
