Kukutente23:There is the believe that Zik was expecting the Prime Minister post, but he was outsmarted by the North that he thought were foolish and instead got given the ceremonial presidential position. |

How does referendum = secession? The 1999 constitution, you and I weren't part of it, it was actually a schedule of the military decree 24 or so Kukutente23: |

confusedlady:Tell me one such politician who is stable, are you a politician and if yes, do you consider yourself great? Can you call Biden stable, Can you call Putin stable, can you even call Tinubu stable. If Tinubu for instance is table whats with the back and forth with subsidy, what’s with the back and forth with Labour if you are stable as a politician you are predicable and that’s not a great politician. Parties have ideology, politicians don’t |

DMerciful:That's not true. The 1999 constitution is basically a continuation of the 1995 constitution. It was the product of a constitutional conference. It is not perfect of course but it is not an imposition as is usually being peddled. Referendum is a quest for secession true or not? The constitution foreclosed that. The best chance was 1960 and Zik flunked it. The next best chance is through your elected reps in the legislature and they don't share your sentiments. It's same with the West. Most Westerners want fiscal federalism and devolution of powers. Their elected reps don't share that sentiment. It was even Buhari who wanted something close to that. |

DMerciful:Your question get as e be. Awo should declare secession of the west as a civilian with an imaginary standing soldiers created while in prison? that would have been a stupid thing to think or do, and if you needed someone to help you further disestablish Nigeria so you can win your war, that's inadequacy. Awo was a contemporary of Zik and possibly the same age as the father of Ojukwu, you might feel good saying Ojukwu asked Awo to go and declare Oduduwa as you often do, but can I as an apprentice tell you an Igbo businessman to start a new business and you will listen? But it was a betrayal that Awo did not listen to Ojukwwu who "released" him from prison and instructed him to go and declare Oduduwa. As if Awo was the emperor of Yorubaland and can say anything and all Yoruba will rally round him. The best is that a man should know his limits. Someone was imprisoned for trumped-up charges of insurrection, you released him to go back to the same country and declare insurrection. Has that not justified the charges leveled against him as a convict of treasonable felony in a country you are fighting against? |

AlexBells:Oga, Stop mixing up policy with IDEOLOGY for goodness sake. Biden is a democrat and Trump is a republican. Each party has its ideology however in government policies may change but the IDEOLOGY remains the same. Educate yourself....the Internet is free for goodness sake. Goggle political ideology, then goggle political policy......there is a clear difference. Haba..... A kid knows these things.... |

confusedlady:Does elected politicians work with ideology or policy, you mistake the party for the politician. Party work with ideology, politicians work with policy. A politician is not his party in a democracy and such politicians must make a balanced and all encompassing policy. Is Tinubu the President of APC or Nigerians. If you want to ask for the ideology, go to the party chairman an elected leader works with an all encompassing policy that’s why he or she can’t be stable otherwise he will ignore people outside his ideological scope |

confusedlady:it was all politics, he was never sincere with Ojukwu, that was why Ojukwu fell apart with Zik when he realized that zik was busy working against the Biafra struggle, and that was the reason Zik ran away from the Biafra enclave, because he felt no more safe there. |

Kukutente23:This is one very unintelligent post, you mean your selected critical stakeholders? 90% of Igbos are no longer interested in your good for nothing country, if you still doubt then travel to Igbo land and make such comment let me see something, anyway you can continue to live in denial and delusion. |

The midwest region was created through a referendum in 1963. Referendum is deferent from secession Kukutente23: |

Wahabfuture:I don't know what makes you think you speak for 90% of Igbo. I have never voted in Igboland so how are your elected leaders my selection? Let's leave that aside. 99% of Igbos voted for Peter Obi. At least you don't contest that do you? Has Obi ever advocated for secession? Is he not saying a new Nigeria is possible? And 90% of Igbo believe him!! So who is the unity beggar now? |

OR AWOLOWO WILL LEAVE HIS FREE EDUCATION IDEOLOGY OF UPN AND BEGIN TO IMPLEMENT NPN SHAGARI QUALITATIVE EDUCATION?? DMerciful:Was that referendum to break up the country? It was a referendum to create a new region just as its possible in Switzerland. Reps just passed a bill to create a new state in the East. Does that mean Reps support secessionist calls from the East? |

raskymonojendor:That's not true. He knew he wouldn't get the PM if he aligned with NPC PM is for the party with the highest numbers in the parliament. His party did not have that. He could only be PM if he joined with AG. Why he spurned that is what I don't understand till today. Like I said, I suspect he was looking at Gov Glover instead of reading the independence constitution. Such a self-harming mistake!! |
