It's all about politic to please the North for support, i don't blame him and it's never going to stop until Nigeria seize to exist, this are one of the reasons Nigeria is never going to progress

300 dollar is about #450,000.
Minimum wage is 30k. Yet governors & federal govt still complain they can't pay minimum wage of #100k but keep indulging in frivolous wastage on a daily.

All state government can pay a minimum wage of 100k I'd they can stop wastage, leakages & corruption.

What Pillar of Christianity asked them to go to Israel?
It is understandable and recommended that Govt stop funding people for Pilgrimage, even in Islam, it is conditional (Who has the Capacity).

But kindly Note; With or Without Government funding, Thousands of Muslims will still go for Pilgrimage.
Through out Buhari's Tenure, he refused to subsidize Hajj, yet thousands kept going for Hajj

Hajj is so expensive now, it is only the rich individuals that can comfortably afford it. It is not a must, or a do or die affairs. It was stated that for only people who can afford it. It has now become source of tourism to some people & Saudi government are earning millions of dollars yearly. A win win for Saudi government

Most things are run politically, something that suppose to be spiritual journeys for individuals, is now for fun& tourism. The money that is being used to sponsor it will safe some people life, some people just need surgery, but our government will neglect them. I pray not to be in such situations. I pray any of our family or friends will not be in such bad situations

5th pillar o, 6th pillar o, sha make sure it's your money cos it's lunacy for the government to keep funding religious trips. . . Whether Christians believe in visiting Jerusalem or not, it's not my own issue, they don't rely on government funds like the muslims who are draining the economy and packing national funds to Saudi Arabia, year in, year out.

Pilgrimage should be handled by the states, the federal government has no business in it. Any state that wants to use all their IGR to sponsor pilgrimage is welcome to it

When will Rivers state Governors have sense for Christ sake, from Peter Odili spending money to the north’s, Rotimi amenchi looting Rivers money to sponsor a northern presidential candidate against his own brother Jonathan,Wike splashing Rivers money In dollars to northerners for his selfish interests, and now Fubara is trying to emulate the same.

Misplaced priorities in the midst of this biting economy. I'm yet to hear of any state governor giving out food stuffs on monthly basis to ease the pain. But are quick to support pilgrims that are going for their personal benefit.

I am not against the idea of going on pilgrimage, but I am against using government resources to fund the trip.

The principle should be to have your money ready if you plan to go to Mecca or Jerusalem.

This is not to understate the importance of fulfilling these religious exercise but this is a PDP Governor o, just before you blame APC.

It will be interesting to one day watch the debate on a law to regulate the use of tax payers money to subsidize pilgrimages for all the religions including pilgrimages by Yoruba in the diaspora to Ile Ife.
