This man's administration has succeeded in railroading itself into big problems by stupidly making wrong decisions in the bid to call himself a brave reformer. Mark the things below 1. This government will continue to borrow and it will be l far more than Buhati administration did 2. This Govt can not control the inflation that is self inflicted because Tinubu chose the popularity way and not the sensible way. The devaluation of naira killed Nigeria patapata 3. The Government is being led by idiots and Nigeria will continue to get worse |

AyeChaniel:Not really, the Naigerian corrupt FG are the problem, i mean, these countries lends Naigeria these monies with very high interests in the end they end up owning large shares in Naigeria's resources, lands and properties. These debts can never be paid back in decades to come, not even in the next 50 years, what they d be doing is servicing the debts paying high (interests) these countries do not even want these debts paid, they are just interested in Naigeria's resources, which are in abundance in Naigeria. Crude oil, gas, copboid, copper, zinc, aluminium and metal. |

The borrowing would have been reduced to around 1 trillion if the subsidy was removed completely be deregulating the price once and for all as already done will diesel and kerosene. In addition, the subsidy on electricity should also be removed by doing likewise. Government should have fully deregulated the price of petrol from day one and compensated citizens by increasing pay. Though any wage increase won't be sufficient to cover the price increase, it would cushion to some extent the pain associated with it. Sadly, the government has been playing politics with the issue by lying through its teeth that the subsidy is gone for good. If Edun wants his ASAP to lead to fast economic growth, it should slash company tax to 12.5% (with the education tax inclusive) and the economy would begin to zoom. He isn't thinking outside the box. Soludo for instance introduced monetisation and bank recapitalization. Ezekwisili introduced due process. Okonji-Iweala reduced the country's foreign debt through a debt buy-back and in addition, worked hard to save $20bn into the Excess Crude Account. The CBN needs to fight inflation by increasing interest rates until they are higher than inflation. The government must stop seeking a strong Naira as its depleting the foreign reserve. The Nigerian economy really needs to restructure itself so it would greatly reduce the dependence on oil revenue for most of budget funding and for forex inflows. The return to excise duties by the Buhari government and now by Tinubu isn't good. The only reason why they are being applied is because they are easy to collect. It would be better if government increases VAT by 2.5% and improve compliance rates. Only about 25% of VAT is collected. Privatising tax collection may be necessary at this juncture to improve revenues. Tax rates must be business friendly. Private tax collectors must be given realistic targets which to meet but must be way higher than the present lousy revenues they collect.. |
