I have often wonder why south east have only 5 states as compared to other region that have 6 states each and north west having 7.

Does anyone have a reasonable explanation to this?

Marginalization is the reason.

Some Eastern states were fraudulently named middle belts.

That is why someone whose name is Chibuike from Port Harcourt will say he is not Igbo.

Number of local government areas in some states is another scam.

And example is that Lagos State has more than twice the population of Kano, but Kano has almost twice the Local Governments Lagos has

The SE population is about the size of Lagos,which extra states una want again

Use Google, the landmass of the whole 5 South Eastern states combined is less than the landmass of Niger State alone, so where are you creating the states? In the sky?

because you can tour the whole of south east in 10hrs but u cannot tour ibafsn alone in 24 hrs

When you divide lgbos into other states to make them small.

Igbos started being small in Nigeria after the war. From Rivers to Delta etc you see lgbos whose identity the worked hard to change.

Lagos state indigenous people said they don't want to be in the south west. They want to be in the WEST-WEST and that is the regionalism they are pushing for.

So as there is a south south, there will now be a west west simple.

The 5 states should be compressed into 2 (max) as they are scattered all over other regions thereby straining the scarce infractstructure of their host regions.

The money saved thereby should be spread across their host regions.

Igbos have the biggest population in Nigeria. In all parts of the country, after the indigenous peoples, the next biggest population are the Igbos.
