The Federal Government has increased its offer of a new national minimum wage to N62,000, while organised labour has reduced its demand from N494,000 to N250,000. This comes after the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, submitted the cost implication of minimum wage to President Bola Tinubu. A source confirmed this to our correspondent on Friday night in Abuja. FG is already paying 30,000 minimum wage + 35,000 wage award = 65,000 naira. Why the foolish offer? The starting proposal should have been 65,000 naira. But they love wasting time on things that need urgent attention. |

Realdeals:Why? They were being understanding and reasonable calling off the strike so that govt can at least propose something tangible. They agreed it would be more than 60k only to now add 2k they don't want to pay more that the added wage palliative they were giving workers for 6months If they call for the strike again it would be intensive like the first time and nobody would blame them this time |
