Back2Daura:I recall Prophet Utuocha said it about 2 months ago that Oando had helped to raise some loan for the FG and I asked for confirmation, which this article now seems to provide. I think Prophet Utuocha is a deep-throat insider when it comes to Oando and his comments and opinions about Oando should be taken seriously and not discarded. He has said that Oando will not delist! We all wait to see. |

Prince111111:So the govt will then continue to subsidize the dollar for the rich,so you can keep importing all manner of irrelevant things because of cheap dollars....let the dollar keep floating,if it gets out of reach many of us will be forced to look inward and shun imports. |

Only a natural force can fight out this man called Tinubu. And it won't take any longer cos human beings are dying of hunger like never before. I have never seen a heartless greed like this. We used to say IBB and Abacha were heartless. But theirs were just the beginning of 'better days were yesterdays for Nigerians' God hear our cry as the cry of the psalmist in Number 90 |

lastkingsman:You may be right. But honestly I can't just belief those numbers of people really voted for Tinubu. Even in those northern states or due to EMIlokan factor. |

nairamaniac:INEC didn't manipulate the total number votes cast in that election which is about 23 million votes (Tinubu + Atiku + Obi + NNPC) because of bvas. Now check the major prediction polls like stears, kwakol and so on carried out before the election. Tinubu scored on the average 30% in all those polls Multiply 30% by 23million votes = 6.9millon votes. I campaigned and voted PO and what I always tell people is I don't know for sure who won 2023 presidential election because INEC switched off IRev (Maybe Obi), but what I am 100% sure is Tinubu didn't get less than 6.5million votes. Not less than 6.5millon human beings with brains voted for this man. Kai! The manipulation INEC did was increase his margin by removing votes from Obi (Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Jos...) and Atiku (Jigawa, Bauchi, Zamfara, Sokoto...) |

lastkingsman:your calculations seems very very right. I can't argue any further. It's very possible Tinubu got up to that number of votes. I can also say that at least half of that number felt intimidated, oppressed by obidient-movement. Some people just feel bullied by massive excitement from a crowd they are not a part of. |

Lithiumite:this floating of a thing comes with a huge responsibility and loss for the country's economy that is struggling because you know how this president have been borrowing every now and then to intervene in the FX market which has never helped the currency in the long run still. You would agree with me it's a good order but in an order that is not in anyway helpful to a common man on the street then it's purpose have been defeated. |
| Re: Naira Crash: Nigeria Secures Fresh $925 Million Loan by Lithiumite: 11:57am On Jun 08, 2024 |
Prince111111:There's no way you can correct the lacuna in the hitherto dysfunctional Forex market we had been used to without leaving a huge press on the economy.....it's basically removing subsidy on Forex which the rich has been enjoying,if anything the naira is only finding it's real value as against the artificial value we have been seeing in the past. |
| Re: Naira Crash: Nigeria Secures Fresh $925 Million Loan by Prince111111: 12:59pm On Jun 08, 2024 |
Lithiumite:so its normal to plunge the country into an outrageous debt because you want to justify your economic policies? Or some countries that we know that subsidize for their citizens are fools? It's not a crime if he could reverse it back to default for now. The blunder he made was to float the currency the same time with the fuel subsidy removal. And here comes the removal of the same subsidy on electricity or why is he contemplating on removing stamp duty on foods and drugs for six months? He already know he made a mistake but his ego is killing him. I just don't understand you people seriously...is it normal for the subsidy to be removed at the expense of the common Man? Or you don't know that hunger kills faster than anything?? |
| Re: Naira Crash: Nigeria Secures Fresh $925 Million Loan by Lithiumite: 1:38pm On Jun 08, 2024 |
Prince111111:Are you saying it's better to keep subsidising the dollar and also keep doing same for PMS....if this govt had continued that route,we would have been neck deep in debt by now and the economy would have been crippled. Do you know how much of the revenue of govt is going into debt servicing....what govt is doing now is borrowing to stabilise the naira by pumping the dollar into the market till it reaches equilibrium. This isn't so bad if well managed as against borrowing to defend the naira so you can get cheap dollars which will keep growing in demand. I will tell you this that the reason for the inflation we are seeing is the high cost of food in the country.....off food prices can go down, prices of other things would also deflate...we are heading into a major food crises soon, there is basically not enough food in this country and this is what really affects the common man and not dollar or fuel subsidy. |
