[quote author=WizardOfNG post=130360648]Ajaero will be put in his place. Watch. Tinubu is very clever. He will always stoop to conquer. He needs the support of Nigerians so he will tolerate the misbehaviour and overt sabotage of Ajaero and co for now. Once Tinubu's reforms start to bear fruit and Nigeria is on the up, positively impacting his popularity and helping him to consolidate power, the likes of Ajaero will be on a one-way ticket to jail trying this nonsense in future. Tinubu's dealing with Emefiele, before and after he became President, should be a case study for Ajaero and all those who underestimate Mr.President's capacity for ruthlessness because he comes across an amiable and non-confrontational figure. Fairly predictable chain of events we have seen before and will see again and again. Once which reforms begin to do WETIN?. The problem with your ilks is that you lack foresight. FYI, there's NO LIGHT AND THERE'S NO END OF THE TUNNEL FOR THIS KLEPTOCRATIC GOVT. Do i also need to spell it out to you that the day he directly touches AJAERO,is the day this govt officially ends. Keep taking LABOUR for granted. I assure you that if they don't SETTLE LABOUR'S demand to the WORKER'S satisfaction, the GRID GOES DOWN IF LABOUR HITS THE STREETS AGAIN!!...and these NOISEMAKERS will do NOTHING!!... Firstly, you can't switch it back ON YOUR OWN and secondly, you can't COMPEL THEM TO !!. SO, STOP THIS DRY RAKING ALREADY!! |

BeeBeeOoh:This is very appalling. How else can they express themselves if they don't shut down every thing in this country? If you want the government to listen to you, you go on strike by closing down the important things.Labour should declare on Monday for the next strike action since FG has decided to price minimum wage like tomatoes in the market, yet they will be buying bullet proof cars as if they don't have money |

Sometimes I just wonder how people think in this country.A country that a thief is given accolades or a lazy man is well paid than the hardworking man,it is appalling. You cannot cook a pot of soup for N4000 that will last for 4days in this country any more yet they are still giving the common man N62k.This shows the government does not have the workforce at heart. They can increase judges salaries by 300% but increase the masses by 100%.They can pay N90 billion for Hajj and buy bullet proof cars yet even for the masses to own a tricycle is a problem. With N62k how long will I save to buy a tricycle (Keke)? |

Kobojunkie:Nope. But the actions taken are typically layered. Shutting the national grid should typically comes deep in the layer. Likewise, health care services, and some other very essential and critical services. That's how we did it throughout Abacha's inglorious regime and it was effective. Even during Oshiomole's, national grid shutdown and other critical service wind down as the strike progresses if the government fails to yield. It's a better and more tactful approach |

NwokoloOwa:Typically layered in what exactly? I hate meaningless stories abeg! ![]() Workers walked out of the job due to terrible pay leaving the grids to run themselves something the grids are not able to since human are required to operate them. The power grids failed and the people suffered. What is wrong with workers working off and letting the grids man themselves? ![]() |

Nigeria is not only about civil servants. Infact they constitute a very small fraction of the population. They took us unaware the last time.If they try shuting even banks the next time and not just power.i will participate in burning thr members alive at any of the venue if I am on ground. If the payment is not ok.Go and resign.Try farming or become self employed. The lazy set of people can not hold other hard working Nigerians ransom. The legislature should quickly ammend the useless laws so that we can deal with them on the street .They are all busy doing nothing in those offices from 9-4pm.The ones in state don't even go to work but just want free money because Nigeria is just a corrupt nation. How much do they add to government revenues |

Are they fighting the fg for themselves or the masses? The docile masses can't bear a little discomfort for the greater good? No wonder Nigerians don't protest in the face of severe hardship like other countries do; they can't just make little sacrifice for a cause even if their lives depend on it SmartyPants: |
| Re: Strike: Shutting Down National Grid Was Evil – Doyin Okupe Tackles Labour by Streetinvestor2: 5:14pm On Jun 08, 2024 |
Kobojunkie:Nice try.Just as I expect the government to sack those particular unserious set of workers so that they can become self employed. Then government will employ new people to man it who knows that the sector has to do with national security and the lives of millions of nigeria mostly the ones in hospital depend on it.. And that the lives of 1.2 million of civil servants is a small sub set of nigeria .Next time they will see violence like they received in platue state. The leader of NGF is the governor of imo state. Tell nlc chairman to go try another nonsense in his state. He will tell you the beating he got the last time and nothing happened |

| Re: Strike: Shutting Down National Grid Was Evil – Doyin Okupe Tackles Labour by Streetinvestor2: 5:35pm On Jun 08, 2024 |
Kobojunkie:I can bet you even if they decide not to work for 360 days as strike nobody will shut down the grid again. Nigerians and government will never allow it happen again. And for sacking, many are already on thr way out with the 60k at state level and private sector if you go thr to ask for 60k.Na security man go hand you already back dated dismissal letter. And labour cannot do anything. Go verify from those lecturers sacked then in kwara state University yrs back. Nlc chairman is only making noise to collect his own so that when he comes down he can join politics. Obi the man I voted in the last election. If he campaign in the next election and say he will pay Labour the madness they are asking as minimum wage.i will campaign against him even as obedient member. The civil servants are the most unproductive set of workers in nigeria even Prof pat utomi just said it. And they are the ones heading corruption in nigeria starting from inec |

Streetinvestor2:Stop talking like a child abeg! There is no law against employees going on strike and labor laws are there to protect their rights even in that case. So if you think that the government can simply fire them and hire new hands, it means you no even go school well well. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

Kobojunkie:You are the illiterate here.whr your right stops is whr another person own starts. It is your right to go on strike. It is not your right to be a threat to national security ,endangering others life's and sabotaging the economy of over 200 million people by just 1.2 million group. |

| Re: Strike: Shutting Down National Grid Was Evil – Doyin Okupe Tackles Labour by Kobojunkie: 5:55pm On Jun 08, 2024 |
Streetinvestor2:LOL...I am afraid you continue to show yourself an illiterate in this. ![]() Workers walked out of their jobs because they did not consider the wage paid them for services rendered meaningful remuneration. The workers abandoned the grids to fend for themselves. The grids were pretty much left to man themselves but sadly, the grids cannot man themselves and as such failed. ▶ Why are the workers to blame for your National security, endangering other lives, sabotaging the economy, etc? ▶ Are they slaves of yours or machines that have no reason to chart their own lives or something? ▶ If indeed you valued your National security, lives of others, and the economy as much as you pretend, why didn't you demand before now your government ensure at all times that the workers who man the grids are adequately compensated to avoid having them strike? |
| Re: Strike: Shutting Down National Grid Was Evil – Doyin Okupe Tackles Labour by Streetinvestor2: 6:28pm On Jun 08, 2024 |
Kobojunkie:I expect you to resign if your pay is not commiserate to your labour like it is done in the private sector or go about it with others in mind. Why can't you go and create employment like other Nigerians. Is it not obvious you have nothing to offer outside the civil service. All you want is free money as a lazy person. Do you know why the law forbids the military and police from going on strike. Let me tell you.The strike was called off because nlc had made big mistake by offing the grid which has to do with national security. And quickly called of within 48 hours because they could be prosecuted for it.They first started by denying the act. It was not because of any futher negotiations that is going to yeild any serious thing that made them call off.....don't be deceived And know they have falling into the hands of the executives who will push to ammend labour laws after all this minimum wage nonsense because of shutting down the grid. And the bill will fly so fast. Even during war thr are infrastructures you don't touch. Your nlc chairman is a complete mumu man.Did you see obi supporting the shutting of the grid.who does that.Is it because we don't keep records.Do you know the number of people who must have died in public hospitals that depend mostly on national grid..You need to go borrow logical reasoning. |
| Re: Strike: Shutting Down National Grid Was Evil – Doyin Okupe Tackles Labour by Kobojunkie: 6:37pm On Jun 08, 2024 |
Streetinvestor2:I am sorry, but why didn't you tell this same to your senators, reps and other ministers who rather than resign, chose to give themselves big fat paychecks instead? ![]() Clearly, you talk and reason worse than a child. And you never got around to answering the straightforward questions I asked meaning you are aware of the ridiculousness of your comments. All of these ramblings of yours mean absolutely nothing so I take it that you have nothing sensible to offer me at this point. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 |

Kobojunkie:Thr is no difference between elected officials and corrupt civil servants in nigeria. The remaining hard working Nigerians are suffering because of this two groups in nigeria. And those who shut down the grid commited act of terrorism to the nigeria nation.Go create employment. You have brain inside your head.Nobody has ever become rich from salaries. Or you just like collecting bribe and cutting corners in those offices...hahaha .It is never too late to learn a skill if your discipline in school has nothing to offer in nigeria context |
| Re: Strike: Shutting Down National Grid Was Evil – Doyin Okupe Tackles Labour by Kobojunkie: 7:16pm On Jun 08, 2024 |
Streetinvestor2:If you truly believe what you said in your first line then what are you still going on about? Allow the corrupt civil servants to exercise their rights by law in Nigeria where you have your corrupt elected officials sitting comfortably and giving themselves raises anyhow then. Or do you fancy yourself a better person here trying to impede on the rights of workers to agitate for better pay? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

Kobojunkie:IThis is the first time I am commenting on politics thread because I don't have the time. When I became an adult I vowed in me never to work for anyone. The strike affected my rights in two ways.I was denied access to carry out transactions in the bank for TB and I was cut of power because of shutting down of grid.Civil servants irritate me because of what they do to people like me when we go to thr offices and will not give bribe for services. The same civil servants put this country in a mess by conducting fraudulent elections over yrs. They can go on thr strike I don't care.I will react if they shut banks and cut off grid forceful. They are just 1.2 million and don't represent the larger Nigerians. I don't benefit anything from them.Infact they benefit from me because I pay heavily from my investment in withholding tax and other taxes. Why haven't the nlc gone on strike because of insecurity in the country, death roads in nigeria, poor medical structures and other things that affect most nigeria. So once they are paid well the government is good to go mostly in state level. That is why we have many useless governors. They know once they pay salaries in thr state they are good to go or reelected. Look at how the one in edo has rushed to pay 70k because election is near. You don't fall in my league. I am a core entrepreneur. You should be going to investment thread to learn how to create wealth and stop trying to waste your youth by tryiing to live on salaries ...hahaha .Done with you....cheers |
| Re: Strike: Shutting Down National Grid Was Evil – Doyin Okupe Tackles Labour by Kobojunkie: 8:03pm On Jun 08, 2024 |
Streetinvestor2:The problem with your tirade is this... the ones who shut down your banks and cut off grid were not the Civil servants but the government entities whom you placed in power to make sure those continue to operate for your benefit. So what you are doing is literally taking out your angst against people who don't owe you anything. 2. The people of Nigeria, not the NLC or any other Labor groups, are responsible for going on strike because of insecurity in the country, death on roads in Nigeria, and so on. Again, please start engaging your medulla oblongata abeg and at least learn to apportion blame correctly in these things. These people are simply agitating for better pay from their employers for their pockets as they rightly should. If you decide you are tired of insecurity and deaths on the road and would like to ask them to join you in agitating against that, then let's cross that bridge at that point. ![]() |

| Re: Strike: Shutting Down National Grid Was Evil – Doyin Okupe Tackles Labour by NinjaMetahuman: 3:43am On Jun 09, 2024 |
Kobojunkie:except they do not have the right to shut down National grid under any circumstances. It is a treasonable offence but government refused to punish them. I as a citizen, I'm also here to express my right as a citizen to tell government to punish any miscreants tampering with national grid to drive home there points. Same reason I will not support anyone blocking major roads in the name of protests, is the same reason I won't support shutting down any national grid. Unless the said group is working in the interest of 200 millions of Nigerians and they have the capacity to do that. (In this case, elected officials ) |
