One country that never fails to amaze me is Switzerland.

If the government truly craves incredible economic results, I would suggest it reduces company tax to 15%, income tax to 15% and VAT should be increased to 15%. Capital gains taxes should be abolished. Nobody pays it.

Next, announce an exciting privatisation program which would also include NNPC. All government owned airports and ports should be privatized.

Government should target foreign investment of $20bn-$25bn annually. This is doable.

Most people don't understand what gdp by purchasing power parity means. So let me explain.

On 2013, our GDP in Naira terms was #80.3 trillion and at the exchange rate of #157 per USD$ our GDP was $510 billion making us the largest in Africa.

Now our nominal gdp was #234.4 trillion currently and if we still used that exchange rate of 2014 which is #157 =USD$1 then our GDP PPP or 2014 standard will be $1.44 trillion.

BUT that is not the case. Bola Ahmed tinubu floated the Naira and our current exchange rate of #1450 per USD$1 now makes our REAL GDP is now $253 billion.
GDP at purchasing power parity terms really means what we would be by now if we were still using GOODLUCK JONATHAN benchmark and practises

May 2023 to April 2024 inflation has risen from 23% to 35% .... food inflation has risen from 25% to 41% .... how much will it be in 2029? What is there to cheer about with this announcement? I guess we should be cheering the FG offer of N62K Minimum Wage .... after all ... this is a 100% increase .... never mind the suffering will be greater.
