I have been wanting to create this thread for a long time now, work and time didn't allow me.

So since Nigeria is at home to day I have enough time to do so.

My problem is that i have a twin (boys) and they are just 1yr old.

This means I have named them. These boys are systematically fantastically accurately and perfectly identical.

Most times I get confused that I may have exchanged the names I gave them .

A lot of people have advised that I give them a mark or like a scar. But i I if I do so when they grow the one I marked may not find it funny.

Pls any who have faced this problem should come to my aid pls

One of the should have a unique birth mark. Could be on the shoulder, back, neck or anypart. A small spot to differentiate them.

And with time you'll be able to identify them by just looking at their faces. One will look younger or darker than the other.

The simplest and harmless method should be their hair cut style. If you have started barbing their hair, next time tell the barber to give them different styles. This should be maintained henceforth.

For a start, snap them after the hair cut and use an image editor in your phone to write their names on the pictures. Whenever you are confused, just glance through that picture and their hair style will help you easily identify them again.

A parent should notice the differences in the personalities of identical twins. One year is enough, what were you doing in that 1 year?

If you are still interested in marking, do the safest one that doesn't leave any permanent mark on the baby. That should be a small paint with a toenail polish on the toenails.

It's obvious you aren't around them enough. Ask the mother how she does it.

I've never seen where a biological parent cannot tell their own children apart.

Don't give them any mark or scar. How barbaric.

You should be able to tell your children apart without having to give them a physical scar. They should not have to pay for your ineptitudeness.

Besides, twins will typically have physical attributes about them that differentiates one from the other. As their father, you should've observed them closely to notice these things. Even their personalities will not be the same (and I learned that in a Cognitive Science class).

Good point @1Sharon. I wonder why he can't ask the mother. Imagine opening a thread about something like this when he can ask her.

Use a permanent marker to write #1 on the planta pedis(bottom of the foot) of one and #2 on the other. The boys don't know how to write at this point, right?

OP, take time to learn about your children so you can know them as individuals. It is understandable if the world does not know them but it is wickedness when a father or mother confesses not knowing his children.

We used to have neighbors who had twins back then ...The father didn't know who was who and didn't even care to know . The only thing he was fond of,was calling the elder twin's name and whoever was around would just reply him ............The twins got used to it,while their mom and other siblings already knew Dem . Some problem can be really funny cha

Simply adorn one of them with a wrist bangle that should be worn all d time.

Use bangles of different designs on their wrist. Or if you're catholic, use a medal of different designs on their neck.

Wear them hand band of different colour until you figure out biological or natural means of identification.

A mother would always know

Use hairstyle to identify them. Just like PSquare

Tie white bead or rosary on one’s hand, then tie black or red bead or rosary on the other.

Lay them on the bed, search all parts of their body, you will see birth marks on them, that's what nature placed to identify who they are
