This trend only shows that by 2033, ICT-Sector would become the largest contributor to the Nigerian Economy by far. **((Meanwhile,, why didn't I see the Oil-&-Gas sector.?? Was it deliberately avoided.?? Or is it that the Oil-&-Gas sector is not really a major contributor to the economy.??)) NIGERIA'S FIVE LARGEST SECTORS — AND THEN 2003, 2013 & 2023

Meaning agriculture have been declining hence the high rise of prices of food items . Why should things we don't import like yams, garri be selling at ridiculous prices? |

But wait.. I am still wondering why ALL WORKING, AND ALL EARNING NIGERIANS are not paying adequate and corresponding INCOME TAX on their supposed incomes and earnings. And then, why are Nigerians not consistent in paying Commodity Taxes, and Luxury Taxes. AND NOBODY IS SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT IT.. These taxes are not just merely supposed to only be serving as sources of income for the government alone,, but they are also supposed to be good methods by which the Government track how much money is in the system, how these money get into the system,, and how they are being spent... Then again,, I just remembered that in Nigeria as a country, we don't even have an accurate database which contains the number of the Nigerian Citizens and Residents who are working as employees (whether for the government or for private establishments),, or the number of people who are owners of businesses (whether they work alone in the business by themselves, or whether they employed any employees).. THERE IS NO ACCURATE DATA ANYWHERE,, NOT TO TALK ABOUT WHETHER THE DATA IS COMPLETE OR NOT.. |

BluntCrazeMan:Are you new here Nigerians pay income tax infact for government workers, both state and Federal, it's deducted from source. Same thing is done for most private organisations too. Commodity tax is also charged in supermarkets, malls etc., there's consumption tax too, whether it's remitted is talk for another day. Taxes with no corresponding economic improvement rather looted or spent on a select few. |

faithfull18:Give me the percentages of Nigerian employees and that of the business-owners who pay their income taxes in Nigeria.. Two figures alone is all I need here. One for the Nigerian Employees And the other for the Nigerian Business Owners. I'm talking about accurate robust data here, and not whether people are paying or not.. How many supermarket employees are paying their taxes? How many shop attendants are paying their taxes?? Do These Businessmen who own threads and chains of shops pay their taxes? The concerns you raised (which I emboldened) are caused by one thing..... “There is no robust/all-encompassing tax database in Nigeria” Why could someone buy a Bentley Vehicle in Nigeria, and the tax duly deducted,, yet the TIN of the person who bought the vehicle and paid the Tax was not captured?? ((Not to talk of the TIN of the seller being captured too.. Thus, the government can never get to know WHO bought WHAT - and then, when, where, and how..)) |

helinues:A decline of 3% in 20 years is hardly something to worry about. It should be worse with the level of insecurity in the northern parts over the years with farmers killed in their farms. Who can forget the rice farmers killed by Boko haram? Food prices is not immune from the devaluation of our currency and cost of transportation too. So everything is not import |
