I begin to wonder what kind of hospital she was admitted into. HIV test is one of the test carried out in a patient upon admission into any hospital so how comes she doesn't know she is positive yet, abi the doctor no tell her which I don't think is possible. Take her to a government hospital with heart to heart care and you don't have to spend too much. |

Frost124:They get tested together, a matured counselor should talk to them. They should start treatment together and immediately, be there for your mom as she might not take the news easily . Don't let them go to all this church ministries that will stop them from medications. God be with you all. Man up🙏💯 |

Frost124:I will suggest a hiv test is carried out on your mom too to confirm Within the general hospital there are support group that will council and guide you on how to get help for them interms of drugs they needed ...anti erotroviral drugs . Many have hiv and still live there normal live while those with malaria are dieing everyday ..is the opportunistic infections that you need to bother about ....Take her to general hospital you will get the support you need . You too need to take hiv test to ensure you don't have it cos might ve sharing some stuff with them . If you are free from it ...then you are better informed on things to share and things not to share with them. |

azpekuliar:Lmao because the fault is a man, we should not be judgemental, imagine if it was the mother's fault, this thread would have been on page 20 by now filled with insults on females generally. No, we will not sympathise with a foolish man that intentionally invited doom to himself and infected his wife in the process, deal with it. |

HIV is not a death sentence o! That time has long passed. Please, please, please... Get thrm to a HIV treatment centre quick and they can br started on medications. Once their viral loads are negligible, they can live (almost) normal lives. Tell them not to skip their medications-- it is very important! (Skipping medications would lead to resistance) These medications are free and very soon you will see the improvement in their health. Please, get help quick! |

Righteousness2:They need medical attention, advice people appropriately, stop this kind of nonsense. Asking people to go to Lord's chosen instead of hospital is an attempted murderer, stop it. |

1Sharon:You see, in relationships, you can't easily tell who gave whom HIV. The dad may have been promiscuous because men are reckless in promiscuity while women are VERY careful. Hacking phones and paternity tests have now revealed it. With paternity fraud, the victim is the guy. With HIV, both suffer. Even the child as this thread shows. No excuse for paternity fraud or reckless messing around sexually. You see, I am in the position to say what I say because I have been in the position to hear woman say what they have been doing behind hubby's back. Yet bound by the rules not to let the hubby know. Including confirming from boyfriend outside that he has HIV. Yet hubby at home still does not know. As for OP, there should be free ARV drugs for people with HIV. Your mum needs to know. So that she can take better care of herself. Including lifestyle aspect. You are 26. Even if your parents break up, you can cope. Again, you can't 100% tell who gave whom. Unless there is clear evidence of regular tests by one party. For example, as a part of regular occupation health check. Our fathers and mothers are humans, with all the flaws you see in any other generation. |

It’s wickedness not to let her know your dad has infected her If she doesn’t know she won’t get retroviral medication and she’ll worsen from HIV to AIDS and die The medication is free in major government hospitals across nigeria. Let them see a doctor, get counseling and be placed on retroviral medication. That will reduce their rate of falling ill and reduce your expenses |

I hear you. It is for your father to go to a Public hospital to receive free drugs. Private hospitals will give you false hope and squeeze every kobo out of you. If your parents are getting weaker ... thinner ... and pretty much sick all the time ... then from my understanding the virus is no longer dormant but on the attack and at this end stage they will be considered as having AIDS. I'm almost sure they will give the latest drugs to slow the attack and it will be better for them to manage themselves at home ... if they still have the strength and energy to do so. Hope for the best .... prepare for the worst. |

NeckingNgulping:Lol. Seek for medical attention first before engaging in spiritual warfare. There are rules to everything on this earth. I believe In miracles, but I don't rely on it for survival. When one is sick, the first thing is to seek medical attention and then back up with prayers |

ebubeson:I am a practicing christian. The Bible let us know that there is nothing difficult for God to do. God deals with us according to our faith individually. I am a HIV counselor working in a comprehensive HIV treatment hospital in Abuja. HIV no longer kills again if you make yourself available for treatment. Take your parents to the clinic and let them start treatment. They will be fine in about a month. Back to my pastor friend - your advice is a big problem in the HIV program. Many patients have lost their lives due to this kind of advice from so call men of God. Many will think they have received healing and abandon their ARVs drugs. |

Good day everyone, HIV is not a death sentence because there are a lot people out there who are battling with More critical and challenging health issues. What you need to do now is to make sure they go to the hospital for Rvs test which will be positive for dad because he has been diagnosed before, and if the result for too mum is positive, she will be place on treatment immediately which will keep her in good shape. Although there will be counseling for them on do's and don't anywhere they are. Once they keep to their drugs, both will be fine. Registration and collection of drug is free at any hospital. Note: HIV drug must be use daily in other to lower the virus load in blood. And you too need to know your status by doing the test and free from fair. Thousands of people are on HIV drug and they are all fine. Thanks |

From the comments I read here, government needs to do thorough sensitization about HIV/aids in Nigerian. Many people are ignorant of everything that concerns HIV. Malaria and typhoid is deadlier than HIV/aids. HIV is no longer a sickness HIV no longer kills if taken appropriate measures. You can leave your full life with HIV. HIV is very easy to handle than ulcers, malaria and typhoid. You can give birth to children without putting them at risk of contacting it. HIV can eat anything they want. The goal is to survive. |

ebubeson:Its your type that make people who are managing their HIV and living a normal life dump their medication in the name of the lord has healed them and they don’t need to take medication again. We all are christians but I wonder where you learnt the part of christianity that says you should brainwash people. Heaven help those who help themselves. |
