That is the more reason why the army should be friendly with the locals not harassing and killing them unjustly. Killing the locals will not only increase the numbers of the so-called gunmen, it will also make the people to hate their countries army with passion. IT doesn't always work that way. What the army needs ain't to mingle with the community because they'll end up loosing the trail. NO INFORMANT gives info but under a CLOAK so the people are the ones to be cooperative. There ain't no place in the world where such happen and the military personels then arrives to establish funfair with the people. Anybody can be the suspect. And in a situation where personnels had been waylaid and killed one time too many, NOT IMMEDIATELY ASSERTING FIRM AUTHOURITY RIGHT FROM ARRIVAL COULD SPELL MORE DANGER.

A whole camp and all that was recovered was
three locally fabricated Rocket Propelled Grenade launchers, two locally fabricated Artillery gun with tripod and its bombs dane guns and two vehicles - this sounds like what will be recovered from a small criminal gang.

I do not subscribe to the IPOB method of achieving Biafra but those Biafran flags were placed there and "found" by the army.

The Nigerian army didn't kill the REAL group that killed their men. For context there are 3 KNOWN active Biafran separatist groups right now, (or splinter groups if you prefer to call it that).

There's the Autopilot group currently under the command of a certain Chinasa Nworu, this group claim to be the original ESN that was created by Nnamdi Kanu and under the interim command of a Chinasa Nworu guy who is holding down the reigns of what is still left of the ESN/Autopilot structure; thus they remain very loyal to the Kanu camp, they used to be the most active Biafran armed group that were popular for those videos of them attacking suspected Fulani terror camps across the East killing/burning their cows and camps etc. They seem more subdued now by the so called Biafran liberation army group now under the command of Simon Ekpa. Note that Simon Ekpa and his "army" are at loggerheads with the Autopilot ESN group, so they have been clashes between the two groups.

There's the Biafran National Guard (which the army attacked and claimed to have killed some of them). This group are somewhat of a smaller, loose and very abstract Biafran group under the command of a self-styled commander named "General Orji"...they seem to operate completely in isolation so they are very poorly armed and use iron condemned parts to fabricate those funny looking guns and other weapons you see on display sometimes. I doubt these are the group that attacked the Nigerian army in Aba as they lack the sophistication or organization to even stage any meaningful attack. These ones just do mock parades in a particular location around Abia state and use locally made Dane guns that probably can't kill a chicken from a 10 yards distance.

Then we have the most dangerous and most heavily armed group under Simon Ekpa which operate under the now popular Biafran liberation army (BLA) and Biafran defense force (BDF). These are the guys the military definitely will think twice about confronting cause they brandish some very heavy military grade weapons including RPGs and GPMGs among other assault weapons. They are allies to the Ambazonian resistance groups that are active in the restive Southern Cameroon areas. I believe they also have connections to the armed resistance fighters who are indigenous and active in the Bakassi peninsula area, the Cameroon gendarmes are currently getting it hot from those fighters. These are the group that most likely killed and are killing Nigerian soldiers in Aba, Umunze and other parts of the SE.

If the Nigerian military want to crush this "IPOB" crisis, then they have to go all out to crush the BLA fighters under Simon Ekpa, otherwise na just eye-service dem they do. Attacking some hungry looking boys armed with dane guns and iron condemned fabricated scraps when they should be confronting the main enemy is a complete waste of time and resources on their part. The real face of the Biafran armed resistance is the BLA and BDF that now use the caliber of weapons that sophisticated groups like ISIS, ISWAP and other well funded groups use.
