LegendHero:its a very bad thing and the NLC guys knows that..it's high time some state just ban UNiON activities like it's done in some states in the USA Nigeria is a federation...all states and the federal Government should negotiate their pay separately... minimum wage should not be across boards or across cadres ..from level 11 upward does not need salary review.labour should focus their strength on how to fix inflation not to increase it ...this salary increments no make sense ...it has never work and it will make matters worse . |

Oshomhole is the last active Labour presido Nigeria ever had. NLC shouldn't have suspended the strike without having their demands met. Mchteeeeeeew!!! |

PresidObi:You keep comparing salary to a bag of rice or a tin of milk. Are you stu..pid? Who drinks a whole large milk tin in a day? Who eats a whole 50kg bag of rice in a month? Nonse.nse. Go ahead and compare your salary to the price of a private jet na. |

LegendHero:There's nothing wrong with uniform minimum wage. It's minimum wage not uniform wage. Lagos can choose to pay more. Minimum wage is calculated based on macroeconomic indicators which are uniform nationally |
| Re: Minimum Wage: Labour Awaits Tinubu’s Decision On ₦62,000 by Kukutente23: 9:54pm On Jun 09, 2024 |
masseratti:Una well done. It reach una god turn minimum wage became a bad thing. Fuel subsidy became evil. Devaluation of currency became a smart thing. And its not as if most of you are better off for it. Same NLC you used to occupy Ojota in 2012 should be banned now. The level 11 upwards have a special market different from those below them abi? The judges with 300% are not working in the same economy abi. The thunder that will fire you guys is still gathering muscle |

One error I see is labour should not peg the minimum wage on a family of six, it's not enough for an individual. How does an individual feed, transport yourself to work and pay rent with #62k monthly? Talk more of taking more responsibilities of a partner, kids etc. An OK minimum wage is at least #100k. |

If the con3 doesn't apply paycuts to "certain people" the economy may not handle the new minimum wage without consequences |

masseratti:Why do you feel those from level 11 upwards don't need salary review. So when they go to the market they will tell the sellers; "I'm in level 11 upwards, and the sellers would sell cheaper to them." Sometimes I try to understand where you guys get your comments from. |

Kukutente23:There is everything wrong with minimum wage. Forget the English, the labor union expect FG to set a minimum wage price and want all 36 state governor to just follow suit irrespective of state standing financially. That is exactly why labor will demand 100k+ and expect a state like Zamfara to pay it because it is the minimum wage. All of you just dey deceive unaself for this country. That’s why nothing get done. NLC should rather start functioning state by state and start setting minimum wage for the states that will be enforceable and workable. What is the brain behind setting minimum wage every X years and not all 36 state governors and private sector conform to the nonsense and yet we keep doing it again and again? |
| Re: Minimum Wage: Labour Awaits Tinubu’s Decision On ₦62,000 by LegendHero(m): 10:59pm On Jun 09, 2024 |
masseratti:You Dey mind them. That’s why some states are still paying the previous 2 minimum wage set of 18k or so. some can’t even pay 18k regularly. Now they wan set 100k and any sane thinking homo sapien believes all states will pay that automatically because an NLC demand for it and FG and their tripartite bla bla bla endorsed it. NLC only fight truly for FG workers. They are just using the head of state workers to their own advantage. |

So, it was all noise labour was making, Las Las, the poverty driven minimum may not even see 100k they're anticipating 😃😃🤣. Shameful, what was the essence of the strike that turned off the national grid. They should scrap NLC and TUC, ASUU is better than them |

LegendHero:You need to have a uniform or close min wage. If not that means someone from Borno can’t travel out of state to buy things because it will be expensive but someone from Lagos will come and purchase stuff because it’s cheaper for him /her. The inflation must come down. People have to save or this increase will amount to nothing . Rent will increase , transport cost will go up , goods and services will double. Tackle inflation and subsidy removal - since subsidy was removed things have gone insane. Tinubu could have started with partial removal. Tackle insecurity - improve infrastructure. |

This Una government na wa. International law states that if you earn a dollar or less daily, you are below the poverty line. #62,000 breaks down to an average of #2,000 per day which is just a little above the value of #1. This is shameful for a very rich country like Nigeria. It's only a matter of short time before people slip back below $1 per day |

LegendHero:Every state in Nigeria has both human and natural resources to generate revenue. Any state that is defaulting can only have them selves to blame. Many have unlimited land farming, others have unlimited deposits of minerals. What is their excuse? |

LegendHero:You got it. That is why those Governors just dey look labour ...... They expect states like Niger , sokoto etc to pay 60k ...... The only viable states that can pay that 60k are Lagos , Rivers , Ogun , Kano , Kaduna , Anambra ......the rest are totally useless....... .Obaseki is paying 70k , because of the election.....Edo is not a viable state. |

LegendHero:You are right at bold This method of trying to do things in a uniform way is even holding us back. We should adopt doing things according to location & region. Cost of living in Lagos & burno are not same. Also with revenue, Lagos has higher revenue, so both State shouldn't be paying same minimum wage to be honest. |
| Re: Minimum Wage: Labour Awaits Tinubu’s Decision On ₦62,000 by jayce232: 6:54am On Jun 10, 2024 |
Helpfromabove1:God bless u! This is why I'm not even happy with NLC I honestly think they didn't take the inflation & fuel subsidy removal thing seriously & that is the foundation of all these economy woes. Raising minimum wage is never solving anything because the increment is going to come with its own inflation & it is even going to be worse because of the imbalance, majority of Nigerians are not even on govt payroll. Tackling inflation & fuel price is the first step they should have taken before wage increment. |
