Digital accounting is a process where transactions and accounting procedures are stored and done electronically.

I can coach you on that. In fact that is what I am studying ONLINE with an American University and I will definitely move to US with that unless God says no.

I recently read, the ICAN president says members should embrace digital technologies in their careers.

If you are interested , I will guide you on it and give you materials to be studying and perhaps register with a new overseas organisation on Digital Accounting. That ICAN is getting outdated.

Got it. I am proficient in digital accounting and cloud management. I use more of tax softwares like Longview, Onesource and SAP for basic transaction recording.

We should consider exploring possible pathways to America.

I know about some pathways like the EB1, 2 and 3that guarantees the green card but we need guide from someone who has passed through that pathway as a Nigeria trained accountant.

Okay. But you know the US and developed countries uses GAAP instead of the other one, how do you cope with that?

try and get big 4 audit experience. Or look for a masters scholarship in the USA. Chances of getting a direct visa sponsorship are slim.

look for PHD scholarship. Visa sponsorship these days for big 4 self don hard to uk, Usa, Australia and UAE. Keep applying and hope for the best

Thanks for this. That has also been my argument that studies is easiest way to penetrate any country. I am opened to the PhD option and exploring its opportunities but seems more school will only commence admission later in the year. Let me know if you have useful info on any school or schorlarships.

study visa is not easy. Many people don’t qualify for scholarships and there is no guaranteed stay after studying for many countries. Permanent residency is still the best way unfortunately due to economic conditions canada and Australia that used to be easy for permanent residency have made it tough.

The remaining part na to look for work. Nevertheless, a CPA qualification is extremely important. The question is: which certification can he acquire which has links with the issuing body of CPA? Just as ICAN has to ICAEW in the UK.

That’s a really valid question you have just asked “ which certification can i acquire which has links with the issuing body of CPA? Just as ICAN has to ICAEW in the UK”. Aside that, do you know anyone who can support in writing the NIW petition? Recently, I have seen a most approved petitions are for PhD students and some pure science professionals.

Your last post is in the NIW thread. So, hopefully, you get an answer. Alternatively, you search "Accountant NIW Reddit".

Yes, my question is valid because if there is and it can be written in Nigeria, you write and pass. Then apply for NIW - work authorisation. The aim is to get work authorisation so as to work in the US. So, if you could do that without pursuing an academic degree (since transfers are hard to come by these days according to Ednut), better. Pursuing an academic degree does not confer ease of work authorisation. The good thing is accountants are in short supply. So, your chances of getting a job are higher.

Except you like book sha, but anything to fasten the process is what I prefer.
