Another thing not really talked about is that Russia may already have nuclear weapons deployed in space. These will act as satellite killers to disable the early warning systems the west has. It was a significant threat enough that the US had to give classified briefings to its senators.

The chinese too are known to have deployed a weapons system in space that no one has yet to understand what it does.
