It depends on the state. In some states, even commissioners or special advisers don't even earn up to 500k. A friend's younger brother is an SSA in XYZ state and his salary is 100k.

Just before the 2023 general election ,the then governor of Rivers State chief barrister Ezenwo wike, made an announcement that he was going to recruit seniors special advisors.

He will proceed to recruit 100,000 senior special advisers (SSA )and he peg their salary at 50,000 Naira each per month.

He gave them a single mandate, that either by hook or crook,or by death or destruction>
they must deliver their respective electoral wards to wike in the then upcoming election.

The rest they say is history

I told him to consider very well before leaving his job, atleast he earns over 300k as salary.

We will like to hear from people with Information. Also is there official vehicle for SSA and Special Advisers?

it's more of the exposure and potential opportunities than the direct salaries

even our senators we claim are earning 30m monthly we may be surprised when we see what they are earning, it may be far less but what this guys take home off the official record is the real deal (or issue, depending on which side of the divide you are )

Do you advise he quit his job for it? He presently earn over 300k. Are the opportunities really much? My guy is not politically exposed. Do you think it will be a good move for him?

If its a public sector job, he should seek for a leave of absence or something of that nature, rather than quit. He can now go back at the end of that experience, if he so chooses.

Getting a job as an ssa or sa at the state level is good enough in garnishing ones cv and you make friends that'd help you in a political career path.
