i purchased these in Birnin kebbi, Kara Market today.

1- peppers @700

2-Onion @200

TOTAL- N900

Birnin kebbi does not reflect the whole Nigeria. Things are extremely expensive and tough in the country.

Onions are okay here.

Getting those from there at that price where they are yet to pay for cost of transport to other states is expensive .

Plus those peppers are unripe.

This is the core north of where pepper, onions and tomatoes are exported to other parts of the country

This would definitely cost around 1500 in some parts of Lagos

Normally N900 in Birnin Kebbi would buy you 5x what you see there... Even with tomatoes. I think the OP is also aware of that, hence the post.

Too expensive for northern standards. Kebbi is literally the land of onions, we buy 4 or 5 of that size of onions for 200 here in Lagos, you should be getting more than double of that for same price over there.

Tinubu is really pushing the masses to the wall..

Very cheap base on the southern Nigeria standard.

If this goes for 900 in the north than it should be close to 2k in the south.

So you want to cook pepper and onions. Find 2k buy tomatoes. E bad you fit get 10 medium size tomato

The useless bandits that they keep empowering have now become a torn in the flesh, collecting taxes from farmers and nothing is being done about it
Everyone should have their own mini farm , even if it's just tomatoes and pepper at least.
I have started my own mini farm already, harvested some spring onions last week
