What positive thing has microsoft presence in Nigeria done to your personal life🤔 Apart from tax the government collect from them, is the Tax reaching your side🤔 if Microsoft or other companies leaves, isn't that an opportunity for we Nigerians to be productive and build our own technology 🤔 instead of depending on the west for everything
What cave did this one Co e out from? Wow !!! This is clearly a school dropout grin cheesy

I am drinking stout as we speak and relaxing happily while at it. When Guinness leaves, how we go do? Sad part is they may just stroll over to Ghana and we start importing the drinks at higher rates

Do you even understand the implications of Diageo divesting from Nigeria ? They left Ethiopia Libya and other war torn dead economy countries so leaving Nigeria is now fine too?

Are you a graduate at all?
Tell me the implication of Diageo selling their stakes to another foreign investor Tolaram.

Guinness business will still continue, it’s not that they are laying off staff and not recruiting staff. Not that they are slowing production or ending production.

Tell me the implication. I want to know?

It's obvious you aren't too bright so lemme try and simplify it for your level.

Okay make I tell you wetin I dey talk eh. For example if Walt Disney that big company we dey make film opened imax4d cinema in your country and suddenly after some years talk say Dem dey go , come sell am to one Chinese agbako company, in your coconut head u think say na the same imax4d? No oh , one the tax wen Dem they pay go reduce , secondly their stake will not cover all physical assets just the direct their one owned assets not those wen Dem jointly own with other third parties.

Numba 2 if shinedu own papa nedu pharmacy in Ibadan and due to the nonsense tax wen Dem dey tax am him come carry all him kaya sell the shop to adeyemi and.adeyemi come enter the shop no be stupidity go make chinedu staff tink say oga adeyemi go rerain all of Dem with out jobloss ?

So oga adeyemi wants to inherit all shinedu liability? No be a daft dummy go assume say all team members will be retained ?

Unku before you open ya mouth to ask me how I know I worked for Microsoft Nigeria , I have headed firms in this country so when I tell you that this is a very bad thing to happen to Nigeria and Lagos especially no argue..

Lastly trust me when I say ehn zero foreign investors will have Lagos in their radar for the next year until 2027 with hope Asiwaju will loose reelection.

For a global behemoth like Diageo to leave your economy monkeys won't know the ramifications. There are brands that when they leave an economy it's either that country has sunken into a civil war or it's a big fat red alert and Microsoft and Diageo are one of them.

Living abroad doesn't make a dummy intelligent.

I see homeless Nigerians come to beg me whenever I visit and walk into a BK for snacks

Honestly I'm planning to liquidate all my business ... Purchasing power now is almost zero

If your business is not based on diaspora customers eeh
my phone business i ve already done that. I can’t buy something for 2 naira sell for 3naira and then get back to market only to see the price is now 6naira.

It depends. If they still retain the brand name of Walt Disney just as in this Guinness case where Tolaram will still retain the brand name Guiness. Tax won’t also reduce because the company still worth same valuation. Let’s say company worth 1m before, Tolaram bought 60% stake and bring $$ into the system to pay Diageo off, their valuation will still be 1m and government can still tax at same rate.

Mind you, Tolaram are global investors and they are the major owners of Lekki free trade zone with the port facilities there. They’ve been in existence since 1948.

So far the shop size and output remain the same. Even if Adeyemi sack all Chiendu staffs, he will still recruit same number of staffs and the net effect on the job market with be close to zero.

An example is ShopRite. It is still called ShopRite but a Nigerian man don buy am. Everyone going to ShopRite store to buy don’t care about the owner name, so far the brand is ShopRite, they enter and buy and the staff strength is still the same.

I cut out the rest of your jargons because it is not related to the issue in discourse.

Try and understand simple analogy:

1. Deago is a big player in the beverage industry just like Heineken and AB InBev. Their leaving Nigeria is an indication that the country is not good for investment and that will scare other big foreign investors away.

2. Many will lose their job and those who manage to retain theirs will have their salaries and allowances reduced. The new company does not have the financial muscle to pay huge remuneration.

3. The new company is just testing the water because Guinness Nigeria have declared annual loss for couple of years since the cost of importation of raw materials has skyrocketed. There is every possibility that the new company will also leave soon.

4. Nigeria will lose foreign exchange earnings because Guinness Nigeria products are exported to many African countries. Change in company name has a way of affecting consumer perceptions

5. There are many corporate social responsibilities that Guinness Nigeria is known for in Nigeria, that will stop automatically.

1k naira per bottle (and it is diluted)... They take the alternative of 200 for bitter gin... Or 500 naira AZ edible.

The new generation don't care about beer. Bar would be relics of old nightlives in 10 years time (you just go there to smoke dirty Shishir, do drugs and may be dance).

The Minster of Finance blamed Buhari for why 500 companies packed-up and left Nigerian since last year. Not 500 people, 500 foreign brands.
