Diageo leaving Nigeria is a big blow....two or more negative growth, will send Guinness to the "cleaners" because Diageo is no longer there to bail them out with Fx.
Interesting times for the Company and businesses in Nigeria.

It would have been better if the controlling shares were acquired by a Nigerian company. Tolaram being a Singaporean company will face the same forex problem that forced Guinness to exit the Nigerian market. Seriously. forex liquidity is a big challenge to foreign companies operating in Nigeria as repatriation of earnings are becoming very difficult.

Tolaram is Indian owned. How many Indian owned businesses have shut down in the country compared to Western owned businesses?

Tolaram has enough funds to sustain the business or deploy cost-cutting strategies. Indians didn't become successful in Nigerian management circles by being lovey-dovey.

I am disappointed in Diageo sha! Only one year of financial hardship and they are packing their bags! Na wa for them. This is a betrayal of their loyal customers and staff.
No be today their problems start. They have been suffering through successive Nigerian administrations. I remember when Guinness ran out of money during Buhari's government. They were bailed out by Diageo. Tinunbu own pass.

Which Nigerian company fit buy Guinness? Except for Dangote, but that's not his line of business. Others will run it to the ground. The problem with selling it to Tolaram is that the Indians will run it on a shoe string. I feel sorry for the people still working for Guinness Nigeria.

Any sensible employee should start execution of an exit plan fast. No more fat paychecks. They will substantially cut salaries. That's their modus operandi. Indians.. Tolaram, well loaded with cash, they don't joke with their investments.

Funny, Tolaram are big players in FMCG space if not the highest. Product catalogue are not limited to:
Indomie
Minimie noodles
Colgate
Huggies pampers and wipe
Minimie chin chin
Hypo
Power pasta
Dano Milk
Go grains
Lekki free trade zone (56% shares deep sea)

To mention a few

They have cash to sustain an economy, and cannot crumble in 100 years time

Why pass fake news bra, performance review is one key part to justify your earnings. Tolaram pays well, so no salaries will be slashed unless you are not worth the pay
