June 12 Hunger Protest: Police At Ikeja Bridge (Video) by Gistmedia10(op): 10:06am On Jun 12, 2024
Nigeria police forces have taken control of the Ikeja Under Bridge, the designated starting point for the June 12 protest against hunger. The protest, organized by several civil society groups and activists, aims to draw attention to the increasing levels of hunger and food insecurity affecting millions of Nigerians.

As early as dawn, a heavy police presence was observed at the Ikeja Under Bridge. Barricades were set up, and officers in riot gear patrolled the area to maintain order and prevent any potential disruptions. The deployment is part of a broader security measure to ensure the protest remains peaceful and does not escalate into violence.

The protest, scheduled to coincide with Nigeria's Democracy Day, seeks to highlight the urgent need for government intervention in tackling hunger. Organizers have called for comprehensive policies to address food shortages, rising prices, and unemployment, which have exacerbated the hunger crisis in the country.

Always swift in responding to armless citizens but call them for emergency and hear them asking you the type of gun the criminal is operating with before showing up in the next four market days

Rubbish

As if Nigeria law enforcement agencies are enjoying the country more than every common man

If they do nonsense police should arrest them and make their family pay a lot to bail them.

Have you ever asked if any bandit try nonsense before?

Because you don't love Nigerians, you will rather have the police oppress victims of bad governance than fight for the victims of bad governance who only want to speak out instead of suffering in silence...

I can bet with anything that none of the policemen there earns up to 100k as net pay monthly. Yet they're trying to stop people from staging a protest that would benefit them by seeing their pay increase.
