They're comparing palmer at city to a bench warmer Duran at Aston villa grin grin grin grin

Aston villa are laughing loud at Chelsea even their fans can't believe it's happening grin grin grin
Who is comparing both players? Why are you guys like this? Is it comprehension problem or cruise catching?

We have a striker fofana with similar profile already, just get dovbyk and we are good.
Fofana isn't similar to Duran o, they both have different styles of play. I just feel Fofana is a better goal scorer than Duran who has some red flags in his poor goal output in MLS and Conference league. Getting a highscoring EFL striker maybe better someone with experience

Because having both Jackson and Jhon both developing in a big club like Chelsea is a black flag

Watching Chelsea go from average to average is enough cruise

I don't care because he couldn't bench Watkins at Aston villa,is at Chelsea he would get the chance?

Omo we get fofana abeg..
Everybody is talking about him being another palmer cause he surprised us all forgetting we've had more misses than hits since these clowns came in, palmer's outrage wasn't even because of his talent, it was mostly because it him being a bench warmer when we were asking for more experienced players and missing out on Olise or Kudus to sign him. At least he was still performing when he was coming from the bench and came from one of the best academies in England that produced foden too.
This one I no even know where to start from, Talmbout dovbyk is too old for the new strategy so why did we sign Tosin? Ok spend money since you don't want senior citizen, excuses started dropping for Osimhen and gyokores but they can spend 65m on a 16 year old right winger who might not even be better than Angelo or Hutchinson
See just forget anything premier league or champion league for the next few years, I've already adjusted my expectations according to what I see

Devils advocate

Duran played in MLS soon as he turned 18 and delivered a goal every 170 mins. He transferred to Villa immediately after he turned 19 and has delivered a goal every 138 minutes there, and a goal every 90 mins in EPL, no penalties

Nothing screams poor output on his record, his record is simply untested and you have to go with eye test, and he is looking OK on my eye test

When are they going to sell sterling?

This one nobody is interested in that maga, boehly should offer that niggar to Saudis.

Disasi and chilwell should join the departing players.

Chelsea are in talks with Aston Villa over a £25million move for striker Jhon Duran.

Which kind analogy be dis? cheesy cheesy cheesy

The 20mins can literally favor both teams.. Lol
Actually, most teams slightly leading are usually the ones on the ropes when added time is given especially if both team A and team B are of similar standards

Incorrect.

When both teams are similar, they team behind will be pressing for equaliser while the team ahead will be looking to protect their lead. That's why in such scenarios, the leading team always makes a defensive sub while the team behind makes attacking sub.

Unless the leading team is the superior team. They will still be playing their normal game, and the additional minutes may be in their favor.

In most cases, additional time favors the team behind. It will give them more time to press for equaliser.

Except you made a mistake at the bolded because this has been my point from onset. Additional time favors the team behind not the team leading

Chalobah was our best CB this season and Gallagher was our best CM so my mid players are delivering

Duran got everything a striker needs, you are just judging him on being a sub for Ollie Watkins which you are supposed to be at the age of 20

Look at this and tell me with eye test if this is not what anyone needs in a striker

Accurate placement of ball in the corners of the net is there, strength is there, pace is there, composure is there. This is a coaches dream tactically. A player with which you can play attacking football and he will have the composure to pick his spot in a tight defence, but just as importantly, you can park-bus and he will cover the opposition half by himself just like Osimhen did for Nigeria at AFCON. That's tactical flexibility. Watch players for their attributes and not back of newspaper

Mid players were our best players this season that's why we're in the conference league qualifiers with no trophy.

That means the players below mid dragged the team down

When Enzo waffed out the team in the last 2 months and Chalobah started and Gallagher moved to Enzo position, only City and Arsenal garnered more points

My well respected elder brother, the only thing I'll say here is that I REALLY hope he turns out like Palmer.

Because I remember I was rather miffed by that signing after we missed out on Olise, and I watched first few games and I clocked we were onto something.

Because there's really no justification for getting an unproven striker where every man and his dog here has agreed that Jackson's finishing and inexperience were two of the major weapons fashioned against us last season.

I stand gidigba as one of only 2 people here that backed Palmer signing.

£25m is very OK for Duran from a pure football perspective, unless he has some personality issues I'm not aware about

The signing also doesn't throw away Jackson because Jackson is a very good player outside of finishing

The difference is in the amortisation of transfer fees and length of contract.

Chelsea will ideally intend to amortise the transfer fee of a player over the maximum length of contract allowable, so the books look good per financial year, despite spending hundreds of millions. This is why we were offering 8-year contracts last year.

If we sign a 27 year old, we won't offer him a contract into his 32nd birthday. Those last two years could be holiday pay in the PL. So the strategy is to lower that baseline to 24/25, and offer the maximum 5 years allowable. But if you offered that 27-year-old a 3-year contract, then the amortised value per annum is huge on the books. So it's not financially smart.

Tosin was on a free. Therefore, no amortisation. So 4-year contract was offered.

Chelsea are not interested in loaning or selling Andrey Santos, who is regarded as a 'great fit' for how Enzo Maresca wants his team to play, this summer. [via @TheAthleticFC]

Well na bench him go dey play, seems like Cesare may go on another loan. It may even be Ugochukwu or Emeka that may leave on loan.

Gallagher is definitely getting sold
Remember I mentioned a few posts ago that I think one of the surprises for this season will be Andrey Santos. Looking forward to seeing him in the season.

Jackson's brain shuts down as soon as he enters the box.

If only that guy had composure...

This is just like a match in which 20min was added after 90min when Team A is winning Team B 2-1.

Logically We all know who the 20min ojoro extra time will favor cheesy
Who will that 20min favor in the context of Ronaldo leading the vote and time was extended?

make Chelsea buy Duran. the days of big money signing of players have passed. if you know say you still get get 100millions players for mind, forget and relax. football don go the next level, now is time for buying young talent with few big signings and a good tactical system and coach to play Dem. cfc should not beg any player, we are a great club. any player that want to come to Chelsea should have passion and love for cfc and force the transfer or go to hell. (eg) tosin, palmer etc. na palmer pattern from now on.

How is that hard to understand after like 3 to 4 transfer Windows now?

James Maddison never teach una lesson?

And don't mention Tosin. That's a free transfer, and defence is more important to fix than Airmark attack. They had to pounce on Tosin.
I told you we don't need to spend much on defence, and getting Tosin free, has confirmed that. Go and sit down.

Same here at bolded.

I just have the gut feeling that the boy will succeed here. Palmer transfer wasn't popular here, but see how it turned out..... And the board have been after Duran for long now. They have a reason for that. Let's just hope for the sake of the club we support that he comes out good.

But make airmark prepare cuz ANY striker that comes here, bench Jackson and fail to surpass his first season numbers, him go hear from me.
Even if Chelsea sign Aiyegbeni abi? Rest.

Duran is raw, and somewhat erratic, but he also explosively quick, physically imposing and a fine finisher . There are tools to work with.

Chelsea are getting a world class striker

Obviously as at 2013 it's supposed to be Ribery. The extended votes and immediate recency bias and uproar Ronaldo's hat trick against us Sweden tilted the favor
