Unconfirmed Report Says Microsoft And Guiness Are Leaving Nigeria by guobe(op): 7:30am On Jun 13, 2024
I have been seeing reports on the internet by various posters that Guiness and Microsoft are about exiting Nigeria.
If this is true, there may be alot of job losses and not in the best interest of the country.
Presently ,it is very difficult to live in Nigeria as everybody de collect even if you are rich you must collect in one way or the other.
Nigeria we really hail thee.

The brewery industry in Nigeria have been deteriorating for decades due to fake drinks.

Liquor drinks in Nigeria don't have constant taste because of too much of fake of them which is killing the business for the original business owners.

Back then, somewhere in Lagos, the house I was leaving, a guy had been working for a fake brewery company for at least 4 years before leaving the area. They produced all sorts of drinks, fake oo

It's advisable for one to get his/her liquor from standard supermarket, even cheaper there self, most of those road side liquor store, big clubs expensive drinks are just Poisons

Microsoft is not leaving. They simply closed a department (the Africa Development Centre). Tech companies around the world are cutting back and Microsoft explained that this has nothing to do with the Nigerian economy, rather it is part of their global plans.

Guiness Nigeria is not leaving or closing down. Diageo (which has the largest shares in Guinness Nigeria) is selling its shares to Tolaram Nigeria.

Tolaram is an Indonesian owned business that is based in Singapore. In Nigeria it is involved in Lekki Port, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Indomie, Minimie, Dano Milk, Kellogs, etc.

Diageo owns brands like Guinness, Smirnoff, Baileys liqueur, Tanqueray, Gordon's gin and Johnnie Walker.

Guinness Nigeria will continue to make Diageo's products in Nigeria under license.

That means there is an element of truth from the reports.
Which company will exit a country when it is making profit.

What apc can not destroy does not exists, their online dogs will still come and defend this, it’s difficult to do legitimate business now in Nigeria and survive, cos of running business is very high and you cannot make profit
