This topic is created to buttress Soludo's claim and also give a big picture view of Nigerian economic situation.

If we do the same analysis for Federal Government, each citizen will get less than NGN8,000 monthly if all revenues that accrues to Nigeria in 2024 were shared with her citizens. Below is the calculation

Estimated yearly revenue based on 2024 Budget - NGN18.32 trillion
Estimated Nigerian population - 200 million
Revenue per population = 18,320,000,000,000/200,000,000
= NGN91,600 per citizen yearly (NGN7,633 monthly)

The truth is that each citizen will get less than 8k naira monthly. Federal Government is expected to pay salaries, invest in roads and capital expenditure, pay back loans and also save for the future. Nigeria is technically a very poor country. Despite this huge constraint, we still lose a chunk of this money to corruption. FG cannot afford to increase minimum wage beyond its capacity, it will result into severe economic conditions for everyone. NLC should please be very understanding with their request.

Please let me know what you all think as well

These are things that very difficult to explain to the large numbers of illiterates that flood the internet.

They largely don't know how things work. Each time I told them Nigeria is presently not rich, they look at me in disdain.

They will begin to mention we have oil, we sell oil every day.

Sometimes they are mad and looking at me like unreasonable person.

They have be deceived and largely brainwashed by oppositions and some poor analysts who think speaking good English gives them authority in all fields

Politicians loot millions upon millions in order to stay politically relevant and it is very clear even to the blind. How then do you convince the workers that Nigeria is poor?

First thing first. Good that you mentioned corruption. The government should be sincere with eradicating corruption. Drastically reduce the cost of governance. Then, we be justified to call out labour union

The analysis i made is assuming no corruption. It is that bad. With corruption I am sure the income per person will be less than 3k

Why use 200 million,is Government paying the whole Nigerian population, the real wage receivers may not be up to 30million
Why are you APC minions always defending nonsense and in the process disgracing your selves?

My brother, if only you realize who you are insulting, but that is not the issue. Nigeria is technically a very poor country. The data and analysis are up there. If you have a different analysis, please share. I don't do sentiments but raw facts. Share your facts and let's debate maturely.

The problem is trying to understand your explanation with the term "Nigeria is not rich" and putting side by side the ostentatious lifestyle of our political office holders.

How do you explain to the people of Kogi State that the state is not rich and the state can't pay a reasonable living wage, but their immediate past governor is on the run and has been declared wanted by the EFCC for embezzlement of state funds in the tune of over N80.2 billion?

The problem is actually govt officials that makes it looks like nigeria has excess money they do this by massive looting and paying themselves huge wages that their counterparts in other civilised rich countries don't even receive imagine the over #150m worth brand new prado jeep for each nass member tinibu approved recently and u expect the NLC to believe the govt that they can't really pay at least #100k minimum wage?

Soludo is one of the very few SE leaders that ALL Nigerians can vote for.

He had a 1st Class and Obi the dullard got a 3rd Class.

You can see the vast difference between the two of them. grin
Re: Response To Soludo's Monthly NGN 2,500 Per Resident Of Anambra by Svoboda(m): 11:41am On Jun 13, 2024
No poor country does well under the constraints of the Imf. Removal of subsidies, devaluation of the local currency, reduction in govt spending all converge to create an unfavourable economic situation in the country. Now we have soaring inflation as a result of govts economic decisions. I dont really blame labour, because prices have gone up and there is need for an adjustment wage.

What subsidy removal ended up achieving is increasing govt allocations at all levels. State govts get more than double what they earned during subsidy, but theres not much to show for it. Rather than that, the non subsidy era is in a way subsidizing their opulent, wasteful lifestyle.

This analysis is fundamentally wrong, let us agree that each citizen is worth 8k monthly, the truth is there will never be a time that the government will share this money to it's citizens.

What soludo would have done is to tell us what the size of the workforce employed by government?

What is the wage bill of this workforce?
How much is spent on infrastructure by the government from its earnings?

How much is stolen by corrupt politicians?

In conclusion only few person in Nigeria work for the government either fed, state or local,so they should not confused the uninformed with this analysis of 200million people trying to share 18trillion that is garbage.
