Kidnapping travellers on the highway randomly is now part of Nigeria's culture.

The ease at which these elements perpetrate this crime is so easy...No single challenge from anyone, and the way the ransom money comes with speed is alarming.

Basically everyone is underpaid in Nigeria at the moment, even doctors. If you compare to American wages, everyone is massively poor.

What I gained from the democracy day security summit on channels tv yesterday was that all the good and intelligent people has been removed from the police to form other bodies like NDLEA, civil defense, road safety etc leaving the extremely bad and useless ones in the police.
