Clark highlighted the disparities in appointments, reflecting on the marginalization experienced under President Buhari’s administration. He criticized the imbalance in key roles, including the NNPC board, security chiefs, and ministerial positions.


Clark pointed out the allocation of less than 1% of a $22.7 billion loan to the South-East, which he claimed violated the constitutional requirement for balanced economic development. He called on the Igbo people to assert their rights legitimately and democratically, noting their marginalization and subjugation under the previous administration.

Expressing disappointment with the continuation of these injustices under President Tinubu’s administration, Clark highlighted the unequal representation in ministerial appointments.

He stated, “Mr President, even in your administration, the discrimination and injustice against the Igbos has not abated. The old Eastern Region and the old Western Region, of which I belonged to, were equal competitors and partners before and during the First and Second Republic, but today, you have appointed 10 Yorubas as Ministers from the South-West and only five (5) Ministers from the South-East, and you even failed to give them the ministerial appointment due to their region that would have made it six (6) Ministers. There is no justification for this grave omission and no effort has been made to correct it.”

Clark’s letter highlights the ongoing issues of regional representation and equity in Nigeria’s political landscape. I've always made this fact known to our people in different fora - the major issues are from our people, especially the opportunists we call leaders ranging from the executive, legislative to the traditional.

I've never seen so-called leaders so self-centered and senseless! Most of them lack the nobility to even embark on any cause which would benefit their people long term. I can tell you the South-South is the least developed region today, save for places like P/Harcourt, Akwa Ibom.

In terms of human capital development, creating opportunities and engagement of youth in productivity, governance, etc - a total disaster! Most of the States have become safe havens for fraudsters of all sorts due to lack of engagement of youth.

This one is talking about number of ministers from another place. The debilitating challenges in his own house, he pretends not to see. How many ministers are from the South South which is even larger geographically with more States?

Just seeking relevance using South East.

This Edwin Clark should stop speaking for SE pls, nobody asked him.

I have said it that what Yorubas are currently doing to Igbos, if Igbos do quarter of it, you will see every Yoruba opening their wide mouth to scream and call Igbos every unprintable names.

Based on population alone apart from tax payments, the SW should have 13 or 14 if SE has 5 while the NW should have 15.

NIN statistics apart from other statistics like voters registration show these things. The SE as a whole is eighty percent of Lagos state by population. Oyo and Ogun alone surpass the population of the SE. How then do you think the Nigerian arrangement is fair to the NW and SW? We are not talking of tax yet o!!

The thing with your sort is when you're looking for straws to clutch on to in your bid to try and defend the indefensible, you either suffer from selective amnesia or you unashamedly tell half-truths! You're always quick to try and 'justify' cheating, lust for power, greed, nepotism and tribalist tendencies and you have zero sense of fairness, justice or even shame while you're at it! Had it been just the Igbo accusing you emilokan acolytes of imbalance and unfairness in your appointments at the federal level, you could trot out your usual accusation of Ndigbo juts being 'petty and sore election losers'! But virtually ALL other regions/ethnicities have accused you of this....not just the Igbo, so there has to be some truth in their accusation! This was on display in the kind of 'argument' you were making to 'justify' why your south-west should get 14 or 15 ministerial slots, based on their population, while the south-east (which last time i checked is supposed to be equal and not subservient to any other region) should get just 5. I take it all those 14 or 15 slots you propose for the south-west will be filled by Yoruba? Would it be a fair assessment to say the large population you attribute to the south-west owes largely to Lagos state? If you answer in the affirmative, can we then also say the large Lagos population is a result of its multi-ethnic and cosmopolitan nature which in turn is a off-shoot of the political-economy in place from the late 60s to present which has dispproportionately favoured Lagos over other cities in other regions? If once again you answer in the affirmative, i would hope you would now begin to see where i'm heading with this? I mean...do you still wanna argue that your south-west should fill 14 to 15 ministerial slots (all made up of your Yoruba ethnicity) while the south-east are given only 5? In light of how i just tried to explain the injustice in your argument, most people holding on to such a position and who still have some sense of fairness, justice and a modicum of shame would apologise profusely and repent, but given the much i know of you.....i'm not holding my breath!
