Not sensible..you can't pay minimum wage with a money that is fixed minimum wage should be paid based on productivity...not just money sharing..an organisation generating 2 billion per month can't be paying 5 billion naira per month even though na govt own the company.if its to downsize do it. Enough of wastages..

It's easier said than done. A non productive state can't sustain such payment even if you hand over some looted fund to them. They will pay for how many months before they run out of cash? It's basic economics.

Sometimes I wonder how these media analysts arrive at their recommendations. It's why most don't accomplish much when they are eventually saddled with the responsibility.

Oga Falana. My boss argued with me on this yesterday that FGN can pay 100k. I said YES. But the states cannot and the organised Private Sector. He said we should calculate the FAAC Allocation each month and the IGR of states. We took Oyo state as an example, he discovered that Oyo cannot pay 60k!

People will just be talking out of reality because they feel so! Nigeria is not producing enough to support the demanded 100k minimum wage! Minimum wage no be monthly salary ooo. It simply means the minimum salary that an employer should pay their employee in a month! Can u pay your house girl this? Even now, how many people they pay their drivers 30k which is the current minimum wage?

Recovered loot will hardly do a month one off payment of salaries. It is not even a sustainable source like you pointed. States should be generating revenue internally by establishing capital projects as against expenditure mostly on consumption with Abuja handouts or borrowed funds.

Recovered loot is not a source of income anyone can plan with. Governors should be borrowing money and investing in productive ventures that yield money for the states. That's how you grow your IGR and depend less on Abuja handouts.

When the recovered loot then gets exhausted where will the money be sourced to be paying ₦100k minimum wage?From Falanas anus?
It can only then be possible through printing of money because no reasonable banking institution in the world would borrow Nigeria money yearly to just be paying salaries,and of course every person knows what that printing will lead to,massive,hyper inflation.
What the goverment should do is agree on say 62k then attack the ₦ devaluation and prices of items aggressively so that whatever people earn makes sense in the market

All the people ask is a wage that is commiserate with the realities of the economic conditions on ground initiated by the FG arising to such ripple effects.

Nigeria is not like the UK or USA where one is paid by the hour cause if that be so many persons would do multiple jobs and earn the corresponding wage for such work.
