It’s 3 years today that Muhammad Buhari commissioned the Rainbow Airport built by David Umahi in Ebonyi, South East Nigeria and no single plane has landed in Ebonyi after three years of wasting millions of Naira despite the level of poverty and infrastructural deficit in Ebonyi state.

When we say that these governors are wicked and selfish some praise singers will come to attack us.

I have wondered what Ebonyi is doing with an airport when Enugu airport is 30 minutes away from Abakiliki.

I remembered when Buhari said that Nigerian governors reason for embarking on irrelevant capital projects has always been to steal public fund.

David Imahi should be questioned for this reckless decision.

Right now he is stubbornly building Lagos-Calabar coastal hoghway when inter and intra states road are in dire conditions.

Tomorrow we will be able to count the number of cars that passes that coastal highway on a daily basis... maybe 20 per day. Smh. It will take about 30 years to make back the money that will be spent from toll gate.. Clowns

if i recall corr ctly he spent over a billion Naira on that God and people forsaken project

An airport in Ebonyi state is an economic liability as the inhabitants of the state are poor civil servants and peasant farmers that can barely survive let alone fly and given that Akanu Ibiam Airport Enugu is just about 1 hour drive from the state.

This variegated colour of a white-elephant wastage is the classical and sensational epitome of the failure of Dave Umahi as an overhyped governor but as par chronic asslicker he was given another appointment as reward for failure.

When Umahi was building and commissioning this so called Airport, I wondered why nobody saw the picture of the Runway or tarmac? Why isn't there any picture of the control tower? It's not enough to erect a building and call it an airport. Where's the runway? Where is the control tower? Where are the hangers for aircrafts?

If you don't have these things, you have no Airport

The airport in Ebonyi was a conduit to siphon money.

And he was compensated with Minister of "Works".. Only Tinubu and Him knows what massive looting they want to cover with this Coastal Highway. He did it in Ebonyi.. he will replicate on a federal level.

When Umahi was building that airport, we kept begging him to concentrate more on human development and infrastructure but he never listened and kept over taxing his people.

His people had to flee to Anambra and other brother state just to avoid his brutal taxation
