Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-governor of Edo State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has promised to ensure the victory of the party during the September 21 governorship election.

Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, made the remark while inaugurating the party Campaign Council for the election.

“If it requires me (Oshiomhole) to take the role of a sweeper, I am ready to sweep Senator Monday Okpebholo into office as governor.


“Every member and supporter of the APC is a member of our campaign for genuine change under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo.

“Titles do not matter; every member is a canvasser; every member of our party must work hard to win their units and wards, local government and state. Move from house to house because neighbour talks to neighbour and would understand.”

According to him, every Edo person who is affected by flood, whose child sits on the bare floor in schools should join hands to deliver APC.

“There will be a change at the Osadebe Avenue; APC will take over Edo democratically, come September 21, election,” he addedOn his part, the Director General of the Campaign Council, Senator Matthew Urhoghide, urged party members to resolve their differences and work hard for the victory of the party and de-emphasize the role of money.

Earlier, APC State Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe, noted that the late Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia, Prof. Ambrose Alli and Comrade Oshiomhole were governors who provided good governance in the state.

According to him, Governor Godwin Obaseki was supposed to continue from where Oshiomhole stopped but failed.He added that the result was flooding Benin witnessed every rainy season.

APC don't have support of the masses, they can't just depend on rigging when the incubent party is PDP, because incubent party will rig too

LP on the other hand is having issue with some of their Edo suppoters base on the candidate they field.

With all these, PDP is on advantage because most of Edo masses don't use ear to hear APC, no matter the candidate they field. Some aggrieved LP suppoters will just vote PDP

Oga,is paying salary only a parameter for success? If we go by that,do you know that otti and umahi are failures? Payment of salaries are automatic and the first thing to be done.besides,the 70k is being paid to just
a few workers.if he is doing well,why is he hated in Edo?

in as much as i don't APC but defending obaseki is one of the most ridiculous things i have seen lately. Even his wife cannot defend him in public when it comes to performance.

Obaseki is not just a failure but the worse governor in the history of edo state.
If obaseki does not make the top three worse governor in the history of nigeria then its not legit.

The man succeeded in taking edo back to 1990s again with his lackluster performance.
Education zero, security zero, infrastructure zero, human capital dev zero.

He ruled almost half of the second term without cabinet.
The man wako no be small.
Just this afternoon my car was arrested by obaseki police for picking a friend along akpakpava rd, they left woth my 5k.
In edo history Sundays use to be free of these bastards thieves.

Lol,despite buhari's failure,APC still won most guber elections and under tinubu,APC won imo and kogi.state polls are decided mainly by how the state government performs and the internal indices and not the president's performance
