adioolayi:No problem. The national assembly you don't care about only takes from the economy and enrich other countries with their spending. You saw how they bought Toyota jeep instead of innoson The nlc and tuc you don't like to have extra money are those buying tomatoes in the market. If you want them to be poor then the economy too will remain poor because they won't be able to make purchases like before Inflation caused by fuel subsidy and naira/dollar policies |

62000 Naira is very okay for NLC if all our politician agree or accept the condition to be paid with same amount. This will make them to think straight. Greedy people. |

All these politicians are always funny, year in year out, their renumeration are being adjusted according to the economic reality with no mind to sacrifice anything for the nation, then they will wake up to advise woes on the head of masses. Failures that have not succeeded in any parameters of good governance, failed in production of fuel for the nation, failed in provision of stable electricity, failed in provision of infrastructure to aid production, zero security, zero health care, education etc. They are always quick to bring advise where masses are concerned, blockage of borders to aid non existent food production due to insecurity, one of the fools said if minimum wage is 100k he won't be able to pay his four drivers. Bunch of buffoons exhibiting the narrow and myopic thinking capacity of blacks. |

PressMyButton:Any company/state not able to pay its workers a decent wage is not a viable company and should be disposed of...merged back into a more viable state. It is ridiculous to argue that because some states/companies are not able to pay a decent wage, therefore, a decent wage should not be made an option for all to be paid. ![]() ▶ Any amount less than $64.5 or Naira 94,893.69 is extreme poverty and should not even be considered of worth. ▶ Any amount less than $68 or Naira 102000, which is the former minimum wage adjusted for the approximate 340% depreciation of Naira since February 2023 (Note: the Naira30,000 minimum wage was worth $83 when it was enacted back in 2019), is pretty much not a raise but adjustment to match the value of the current minimum wage right about the time before the current administration took office. I suspect the recent increase of 300% for the Judiciary was such an adjustment made against the Naira depreciation level. Naira 124,000 or $83 really should be where Labor begins its negotiating for a raise from. ▶ At the federal level though, anything less than N250,000 should be rejected by federal workers. SwissMass:This is ridiculous reasoning. Presidency, Senator, HOR, & all political office holders all gave themselves raises not too long ago in that same Nigeria. Are they currently complaining that they are having to spend more on goods and services? Why is it that it is the Nigerian people, many of whom have not received a raise in over 4 years that are screaming at the biting cost of prices of goods and services instead? ![]() Inflation as it stands today is not a result of Nigerians being paid more money but a result of recent APC policies many of which were implemented during this current administration. So, why should the fear of inflation be used as a weapon against Nigerians demanding better pay when inflation, as it stands, was not caused by the same receiving better pay? Why the nonsense scare tactics? ![]() |

Whether or not the government agrees to pay NLC or TUC, those private-sector workers will continue to depend solely on their private-sector employers, right? So, what exactly is your issue with the private sector not being directly paid even after all of this by the government? ![]() 3. New wages have not been released in over 4 years yet inflation has climbed to over 35% with no end in sight. Prices of goods and services have risen over 400% at this point and it is expected to continue to rise. So what is the reason behind this inane tactic of trying to pin inflation instead of an increase in wages? ![]() |

adioolayi:It isn't NLC or TUC's duty to enforce the Law in Nigeria. They can only agitate for better pay for their members. Enforcement is up to the government and of course citizens. The Minimum Wage Act was enacted in 2019 and is dated 26th March 2019That is how labor laws work. Employers are expected to pay taxes and based on reports received, the Government is mostly able to determine whether a particular employer complies or not. Another way is having individuals file suits or petitions with the government against employees refusing to pay the minimum wage for services rendered. ![]() |
