And Venezuela remains very underdeveloped with a lot of poor people despite the huge revenue from oil, though the country is under sanctions from US and EU, but corruption under President Nicolas Maduro is largely responsible. To think Venezuela has the highest oil reserve and the country is far worse than Nigeria in terms of everything you can imagine is sickening. They should bring Venezuela to Africa where corruption thrives due to bad leadership. So indirectly; Oil is either a blessing or a curse. A blessing to Saudi but a curse to Venezuela and Nigeria A blessing to the Northern Nigeria but a curse to South South and Niger Delta Can't wait for EVs and climate control to take over the world by 2030, then Nigeria will know their oil is useless and then go back to agriculture. Fellow Nigerians like to think we are the only ones with natural resources. United States, Canada have 10x of most natural resources we have. They have 100x more gold, more crude oil, more coal, more copper, more gas etc. We need to stop focusing on natural resources, but start working on ourselves.
