You’re To Reduce Poverty, Not To Escalate It – Labour Party To Tinubu by BeeBeeOoh(op): 5:25am On Jun 19, 2024
The Labour Party has expressed its disappointment over President Bola Tinubu’s statement which it described as making a mockery of Nigerians as poor.

The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh, who said this added that the President needed to be reminded that he was elected into office to reduce if not eliminate poverty and not increase it.

He was reacting to President Tinubu’s statement that Nigerians were not the only ones suffering from poverty.

According to him: “We are disappointed but not surprised by the comments made by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu about the excruciating poverty his administration’s policies have unleashed on Nigerians since he took office over a year ago.

“It was to say the least disheartening to hear Mr. President mock his citizens by saying Nigerians are not the only ones facing poverty.

“Assuming but not conceding that what he said is true, Nigerians who are at the receiving end of his harsh economic policies don’t need to be reminded about the pain and hunger they have been forced to live with by the very people who put them in that situation in the first place.

“May be this administration needs to be reminded that it was elected to reduce if not eliminate poverty, hunger and disease but what we have seen is an obsession with opulence.

“We are yet to get over the billions appropriated for the renovation of the President and Vice President’s lodges, now we hear they want new jets to join the Presidential fleet.”

He said the nation’s schools and health institutions were on their knees and the same government claims it cannot afford to pay public servants a living wage but has enough to make itself comfortable at the expense of the suffering masses.

He implored the President to uphold the constitution he swore to protect, adding that the constitution says the security and welfare of the populace shall be the primary purpose of the existence of the government.

Tinubu has nothing to offer now. I have been shouting it since. A leopard cannot change its spots.

My advice to Nigerians is, have little or no expectation from this present government.

That way, you won't be getting angry unnecessarily with their shenanigans.

If you are a follower of history then you shouldn't be expecting Tinubu to perform well. Man is only after his pocket.

Tinubu destiny and job is to make Ebin pawa song popular in the South West

while they support him out of tribalism, from Adeboye to Soyinka, from Oyedepo to Kumuyi
the support for the failure is loud,

He has promised them El dorado from next year, Garri will be 500 naira a paint grin
they just need to endure baby steps of pain

while he acquires a brand new aircraft and pays below 70k minimum wage

A man who removed subsidy but increases taxation, and borrowed more money in his first year than Bubari..

Tinubu is only trying to recover all the money he spent in sponsoring Buhari, dollars he shared at the APC convention and money he spent during election.

Poverty is what many Nigerians want. The last election was proof that not every Nigeria likes or want what is good

But madam Remi tok say, Jesus told her the poor will always be in the land.
Did Jesus ask them to manufacture poverty and make more Nigerians excruciatingly poor?

"Let the poor breath" is another propaganda from this heartless government with their 'fire brigade approach' policies.
Tinubu government is a colossal flop..how much time do we have left to put the dirt in the trash can. This time (hopefully) the people will say no to suffering.
We're being choked.
The middle class has been eroded.
A whole lotta kids will consider theirselves fortunate to eat foods with almost no nutritional value.
These people don't know half of what the masses are going through and even if they do, it obvious they don't care.

The okpolo eye have nothing to offer Nigeria any time any day. He has achieved his aim to be president. But watch how same Nigerian groaning will drag lines to vote for him again. I have no pity for any Nigerians.

I made the best choice to leave Nigeria after the election.
